Showtime announced today that they have cancelled City on a Hill after three seasons. The crime drama starred Kevin Bacon as a veteran FBI agent and Aldis Hodge as an up-and-coming city prosecutor. Together, the pair worked together to clean up corruption in Boston.
“City on a Hill concluded its successful run on Showtime with its Season 3 finale,” Showtime said in a statement. “We have had nothing but the best experience working with Kevin Bacon, Aldis Hodge and the entire cast and crew, led by showrunner Tom Fontana and fellow executive producers including Jennifer Todd and Jorge Zamacona. We offer our sincerest thanks to everyone.” The series was created by Chuck MacLean, who also executive produced alongside Tom Fontana, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Barry Levinson, and more. The third season of City on a Hill wrapped up in September, and THR hears that the choice to cancel the series was made some time ago.

The hit sitcom Married… With Children could return as an animated series with its original cast in tow, Deadline reports.
The original series, which ran for 11 seasons between 1987 and 1997, centered around the Bundy family. Ed O’Neil played the patriarch Al — a high school football star-turned-shoe salesman — while Katey Sagal played his wife Peggy, Christina Applegate their daughter Kelly, and David Faustino as their son Bud.

The wave of TV revivals (and '90s nostalgia) continues. Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter is pitching a reboot of the hit Fox sitcom Married... With Children. According to Deadline, Christina Applegate, Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal and David Faustino signed on to reprise their characters last year—or at least, reprise their characters' voices. That's right: Carter intends to put a twist on the classic by turning it into an animated series in which the original cast would voice the Bundy family. The actors have long discussed reviving the sitcom, but, before now, have stopped short of giving any idea their official stamp of...

Married... With Children could be staging a comeback.
Deadline reported Friday that a revival of the hit Fox series is in the works, but there's a catch.
The new project will be animated.
It's a different direction, right?
The good news is that original cast members Ed O’Neil, Katey Segal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino are all set to return for the revival.
Given that the cast has remained busy in the years since the series wrapped, the animated direction makes a bit more sense.
Alex Carter (Family Guy) is attached to serve as writer and showrunner should the project garner a series order.
The project has been in the works at Sony Pictures Television for over a year, and deals were closed with the original stars before it was shopped.

This Army of the Dead article contains spoilers.
The premise of Army of the Dead was originally intended for a Dawn of the Dead sequel. No, really. Director Zack Snyder is not shy about this point, mentioning to the press, including us, that he’s virtually had this concept in the back of his mind since time immemorial.
“Just exploring Dawn, in doing that movie and taking it apart [was exciting],” Snyder recently told Den of Geek. And while the idea of doing a direct sequel to his 2004 remake of the George A. Romero classic fizzled in the years after Snyder’s debut picture, the premise of a heist movie where the heroes have to break into an abandoned Las Vegas hotel to steal the proverbial jackpot has been a Snyder pitch “for forever.”
Now that Army of the Dead is finally here, thanks to Snyder partnering with Netflix, it is very much its own movie.

Kristin Kreuk has come home — in more ways than one. The Smallville and Beauty and the Beast vet returns to The CW in Burden of Truth, a Canadian legal mystery series that made its stateside debut on Wednesday.
Kreuk’s character — corporate lawyer Joanna — has gone back to her roots, too. Hoping to impress a potential client, she travels to her tiny hometown of Millwood, where female high school students are experiencing seizures and tics after getting the Hpv vaccine. But rather than trying to protect the girls, Joanna is representing the big company responsible for manufacturing the shot. “No filter.

X-Files Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering Chris Carter's 10-episode continuation of the X-Files television series.Shafts of light outlined by drizzly mist. A soon-to-be massacred boy (Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez) separated from his mother. A shape-shifting monster lurking in the woods. Business as usual on The X-Files, though there’s something about the adeptly creepy teaser sequence of “Familiar” (the eighth episode of Season 11, penned by former Xf writer’s assistant Benjamin Van Allen, and beautifully, atmospherically directed by series newcomer Holly Dale) that feels provocatively off and strange. It’s a sensation that extends over the entirety of an installment sure to be categorized as “old school,” though it more accurately blends the freshly peculiar with the staunchly, yes, familiar. “Thanks for backing me up out there,” says FBI Special Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to her partner Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) after they mutually spar...

A look back at Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, the final outing for The Original Series cast.
This article originally appeared on Den of Geek UK.
Star Trek: VI: The Undiscovered Country remains the final ensemble outing for the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series, the show that started it all. Let's take a look back at how this miraculous film came to be and why it deserves recognition in this franchise's 50-year history...
Despite my personal opinions, the reception to Star Trek V: The Final Frontier was nothing short of disastrous: A Razzie for Worst Picture, derision across the board, enough fallout to kill the career of producer Harve Bennett and stop William Shatner from ever directing another movie. But Star Trek: The Next Generation fortunately found its feet not long after, and the franchise survived.
But what of the aging original cast? They were unwanted,...

The War On Terror meets The Final Frontier and asks the most important question of all time. What does God need with a starship?
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
William Shatner fights God. That’s about all anyone remembers from the infamous Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Over the years, the tale has grown in the telling. Some called it one of the worst films of all time, others call it a box office catastrophe. It killed the careers of the director, producer, the entire special effects company, and nearly ended the entire Star Trek franchise right there and then. It is remembered merely as a vanity project gone horribly wrong.
But ask yourself this. What does God need with a starship? Can you answer it? Can you understand the question? To dismiss it out of hand is to dismiss the opportunity to think.

George A. Romero's classic Night of the Living Dead has at least 28 sequels, remakes, and spinoffs. We can prove it, too.

How many follow ups are there to Night of the Living Dead? Go on, guess.
If you answered three, then congratulations, you’re one of the 12 people who remember Land of the Dead. But you’re wrong.
If you answered five, then you’re one of the two people who actually watched of the last two Romero films. But you’re still wrong.
I’ll tell you. I count 28. 28! I’m not joking. And that’s not counting the homages, parodies, or myriad "of the dead" and "of the living dead" titles that have nothing to do with Night of the Living Dead. Actually, most of the titles on this list have nothing to do with Night of the Living Dead,...

Is Star Trek III: The Search For Spock actually a better movie than The Wrath of Khan? Maybe...
The passing of Leonard Nimoy demonstrated exactly why Star Trek’s relentless optimism pulled in so many fans. In sci-fi, death is generally cheap, undone by the stealing of a starship and a healthy dose of improbable science. In Trek, Spock was never really dead. In reality, Leonard Nimoy has died, it sucks, and the only thing left to do is mourn. I know which reality I prefer.
Star Trek III: The Search For Spock might seem like the inevitable sequel, but at the time Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan was supposed to be the end of the franchise. Yet the renewed interest by not only fans, but the cast, meant that once Star Trek II was successful, the future of the franchise was guaranteed. And it...

An untried director, budget cuts, a star killed in the first scene. Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan didn't have the makings of a classic.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture may have done well at the box office (it still stands as the second most profitable Trek film made), but it hardly became the critical darling that was hoped for. The languid pace, the focus on two new and largely mishandled characters, and prolonged special effects sequences took their toll on the audience.
Despite its success, there was some doubt as to whether a sequel would follow. The new wave of sci-fi was waning, partly due to The Motion Picture, and partly because of the lukewarm critical response to The Empire Strikes Back (no, I’m serious - contemporary reviews weren’t kind at all). But Hollywood loves a dead horse to flog, and with approximately...

To put it brief, the two-hour Burn Notice Season 6 finale spectacle surpassed our expectations. We aren’t in a further place along Michael’s (Jeffrey Donovan) seemingly never-ending path to redemption, but he is in a safer place. We were teased with the death of a character, and we got one, just probably not the one we originally thought–and that’s just fine with us. We wanted to see Michael go up to bat for his crew and he did that on a few occasions and ultimately paid the price at the end. He did exactly what he promised Sam (Bruce Campbell); Michael Westen made things right. There were also a few lines that should have caught you off guard, and some that made you laugh out loud, reminding those that have stuck by this show why we love it so.

The second hour of the Burn Notice Season 6 finale (Read my review of "You Can Run" now) certainly didn't pull any punches. If I hated Riley before, "Game Change" proved that there was more room to add some dislike.
When Riley promised to chase Michael to the ends of the earth to get him, I didn't realize that the ends of the earth were in Miami. Did anyone else find it funny that Michael finally left the city on a boat only to be stopped by the Coast Guard he called?
I admit that I was surprised that super agent Riley actually went to the dark side and contracted with the enemy to have Michael and the gang killed. Once I got past the shock, I realized it gave Michael the opening he needed to clear his name, especially if his “friend” Css Agent Bly (Alex Carter) was willing to help.

The Burn Notice Season 6 Finale has arrived. Tonight we’ll find out what happens to Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell), Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), Jesse (Coby Bell) and Madeline (Sharon Gless). But first, let’s take a look back at the season and reflect what has worked, what hasn’t worked, and our expectations on tonight’s two-hour finale, “You Can Run….”
Editor’S Pick: Burn Notice Finale Review – The damage is done
What’s worked
• Burn Notice broke out of its safety zone this season by taking Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) away and for a few episodes we got to see Fi in solo action. She still used her wits, creating makeshift weapons, charming the guards and fellow inmates but she didn’t quite have the backup, the car, nor the right pumps to match those orange jumpers.

Burn Notice Season 6 Episode 16: Odd Man Out
Burn Notice has been filled to the brim with annoying characters this season. Tom Card (John C. McGinley) was rightfully shot in the head in the mid-season finale, “Means & Ends” and whenever I see Agent Olivia Riley (Sonja Sohn), her one-note overacting makes me want to yank my television off my wall, climb up a flight of stairs to “clean and jerk” it out of my third-story window. I know, I know, Sohn was on The Wire, but can we give her a little more range to work with here? Oh and by the way, we get two hours of her tough girl act in the season finale. But the award for the most annoying character this season – and perhaps all of the seasons – has to go to Colin Schmidt, played by comedian Patton Oswalt.

A few things were noticeably absent from the Season 6 Premiere of Burn Notice last night. There were no covers, no over-the-top accents, and no smiles from Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan). What few jokes Sam (Bruce Campbell) and Jesse (Coby Bell) threw out went over like lead balloons, because there was simply nothing to joke about. Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) and Sam saw Michael compromising everything he stood for, burning fellow spies, deleting government files; he was doing Anson’s (Jere Burns) work at the snap of his weasel-fingers. Fiona and Sam had enough and came up with a plan that would snap Michael out of his funk and fight back–they might have snapped him a bit too hard.

There were two games on TV Thursday night — something involving basketball and then the game Anson was playing with Michael Westen on Burn Notice.
If we’re keeping score, evil man Anson still has one up on Michael. By the end of the season premiere, he had not only slipped through Michael’s fingers once again, but he had almost killed Sam in an explosion. (P.S. – Thank you, Burn Notice, for always bringing the boom.)
Meanwhile, Fiona was still in custody, and despite Agent Jerk’s (Alex Carter) best efforts to trick her into confessing the truth, she stuck to her story.
