The eagerly anticipated Ronald Reagan biopic “Reagan,” directed by Sean McNamara and featuring Dennis Quaid as the 40th President of the United States, is scheduled to open in theaters this August. “Reagan” is the first full-length biopic of the controversial president, who was in office for two terms between 1981 and 1989.
Since its initial announcement in 2010, “Reagan” has encountered several obstacles, such as delays resulting from Covid shutdowns and the SAG-AFTRA/WGA strikes. It’s interesting to remember that in 1960, Reagan spearheaded an actors’ strike while leading SAG.
Well, now that the biopic is all set to release, read below to get all the information about the upcoming McNamara’s historical biopic.

There are many great shows in this world and many of them get canceled unjustly, and they don’t get to finish the story they were trying to tell what’s even sadder is that sometimes they end on a note that needs some type of resolution and if it’s a Netflix original series there is even a higher chance of that. So, today we are making a list of every Netflix original series that was canceled in 2024.
Obliterated (2023)

"There's nothing a retired governor can do about the Soviets..." ShowBiz Direct has revealed a trailer for a movie called Reagan, a brand new biopic about the 40th President of the United States of America. This will open in theaters at the end of August this summer. Actor Dennis Quaid stars as Ron, who worked as an actor before getting into politics. "I've always been told bits and pieces of the stories of Ronald Reagan's life, but this movie puts the whole story together. I've played quite a few real people over the years, and I like to play them from their point of view, without judgment. It was a big challenge for me to get behind the public persona of the man and also to move beyond my own feelings of admiration for him." Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the film was shot in Oklahoma...

ShowBiz Direct has released the first trailer for Reagan, the biopic starring Dennis Quaid as Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States. If it feels like we’ve been hearing about this one for a while, it’s because we have; Reagan actually wrapped production almost four years ago.
The film follows Ronald Reagan from “his humble beginnings to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and finally on to his biggest role as Commander in Chief set on the world stage… Told through the voice of Viktor Petrovich, a former Kgb agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first catches the Soviets’ attention as an actor in Hollywood, this film offers a perspective as unique as it is captivating.“
In addition to Dennis Quaid, Reagan stars Penelope Anne Miller as Nancy Reagan, Jon Voight as Viktor Petrovich, Mena Suvari as Jane Wyman, Kevin Dillon as Jack L. Warner,...

The heroes of Obliterated work hard, but they party harder. So when realized that the nuclear bomb they disabled was a fake and Las Vegas was still at risk, they had to cut short clear their heads, and then hustle even harder to disarm the weapon that threatened to, um, obliterate the city of sin (and all the revelers inside it).
Thankfully, their persistence paid off, despite being double-crossed, taken off their own mission, and scattered across the Nevada desert — all while trying to sober up. In the final moments before the nuke was set to explode, bomb expert Hagerty (C. Thomas Howell) rode into a casino on a camel (long story) and saved the day. But how did we get there? And what does this mean for our team going forward?

It's no secret to any horror buff that the genre's greatest offerings aren't always defined by critical prestige. But when it comes to horror television, the uphill battle that new shows face to overcome skepticism and garner positive reviews is even steeper. This is aptly demonstrated by the TV landscape of the '90s, in which writers and directors galvanized the medium by venturing into as-yet-unexplored depths of scariness, violence, and production value. However, creators weren't always able to translate that broadening of horizons into favorable critical notes.
Sure, it was the decade of "Twin Peaks," "The X-Files," Stephen King's "It," and all the bold new offerings for which such beloved programs paved the way by evidencing audiences' appetite for serious, well-made horror TV. But it was also the decade of a vast number of critical flops, which have been either largely forgotten or marred by extremely negative reputations...

For as long as “teenager” has been a demographic, there have been stories about teens breaking free from the status quo. While a lot of the modern great teen rebellion media is confined to the world of TV — where shows like “Euphoria” attract constant buzz — the archetypal troubled teen story remains 1955’s “Rebel Without a Cause.” Starring James Dean in unquestionably his defining role, a rebellious teen struggling with his demons in L.A., Nicholas Ray’s film spoke to young people at the time with its story of high schoolers struggling with, and going against, the social pressures that bring them down. Over the years it became a touchstone because its themes and its honesty transcends generations.
As the teen film has evolved and morphed as a genre, there’s always been room for stories of iconoclastic youth who don’t fit in with the status quo. Oftentimes, these...

If you haven't seen "The Outsiders" in the past 20 years, you may want to revisit the coming-of-age classic: in 2005, it was rereleased with 22 minutes of additional footage, reportedly at director Francis Ford Coppola's request. The new version of the movie, titled "The Outsiders: The Complete Novel," hewed more closely to the beloved S.E. Hinton book of the same name, and it also reinstated a scene that Coppola regretted cutting after the film's 1983 release.

Angelina Jolie‘s daughter, Vivienne, 15, has assumed the role of a meticulous assistant on the Broadway production of The Outsiders. The mother-daughter team attended the show’s premiere at New York City’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on April 11.
“She’ll correct me,” Jolie, 48, who is a producer of the show, said. “She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this. She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously.”

C. Thomas Howell became a screen sensation after his captivating performance as Ponyboy Curtis in The Outsiders (1983). However, his role in the Francis Ford Coppola coming-of-age classic was not his first movie appearance. Howell began garnering attention with his debut film role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982 and went on to secure roles in more film projects, including Red Dawn (1984), Secret Admirer (1985), The Hitcher (1986), Gods and Generals (2003), War of the Worlds (2005), and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). Francis Ford Coppola is celebrating his memorable film The Outsiders with footage of the auditions that brought together the film’s young stars, almost all of whom went on to even greater glory.
Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Diane Lane, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, and Rob Lowe were part of the magic cast.
“42 years ago, we cast The Outsiders in a unique way,” Coppola wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday. “We had all the actors together on a soundstage and would alternate different actors reading for different roles.”
He continued: “It was interesting because each of them was watching their competition, so while it could’ve been a volatile situation, it turned into a very positive one. There emerged the natural respect and sense of colleagueship among them. The result worked beautifully and reminded me of my days as a camp counselor.”

Four decades after its release, director Francis Ford Coppola took to Instagram on Thursday to share audition tapes from his 1983 film, The Outsiders.
The film, based on the 1963 novel by S.E. Hinton, is known for, among other things, launching the careers of many of its young stars, including Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, Diane Lane, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon and Emilio Estevez.
In his post on Thursday, Coppola recounted his unique casting process for the endeavor. “We had all the actors together on a soundstage and would alternate different actors reading for different roles,” he said. The process is reflected in the accompanying footage of Coppola’s post, where various actors read lines from characters they did not play. At one point, the clips include several different performances of the line, “Hop the 3:15 freight to Windrixvill.”

When you look at the cast of Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders, it’s pretty amazing how many up-and-coming young actors were involved, most of whom were complete unknowns at that point. Over forty years after its release, Coppola has shared audition footage of The Outsiders on Instagram, featuring Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillion, Ralph Macchio, and more. There’s even footage of actors who didn’t get roles in the movie, including a young Anthony Michael Hall.

Hailing from “Cobra Kai” creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, the comedy followed a special forces team who — after believing they’d thwarted a deadly threat to Las Vegas —celebrates their victory accordingly with a party filled with booze, drugs and sex only to discover that a bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb and save the world.
Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano, Alyson Gorske, C. Thomas Howell, Eugene Kim, Paola Lázaro and Amalia Yoo star.
Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald executive produced “Obliterated” with Dina Hillier from Counterbalance Entertainment. Sony Pictures Television is the studio.
The news comes as Hurwitz and Heald recently teased that he and the team were back at work on the sixth and final season of “Cobra Kai.

Obliterated has lived up to its name. Netflix has opted not to proceed with a second season of the hourlong action-comedy series.
The cancellation comes as a little bit of a surprise as Obliterated spent a respectable six weeks in the Netflix Top 10 for English-language series following its Nov. 30 release, peaking at No.1 in Week 2. The streamer largely bases its renewal decisions on analyzing viewing vs. cost.

The hits don’t stop for Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the trio behind Cobra Kai and most recently, Netflix’s latest No. 1 hit, Obliterated.
Obliterated is a return to the trio’s roots which began with raunchy comedies like Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (2004) and its follow-ups Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008), Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam (2008) and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011); American Reunion (2012); Blockers (2018); and Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), among others.
The new 8-episode Netflix series, currently available to stream in its entirety, follows an elite joint-special operations team assembled from various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and intelligence services to stop a deadly terrorist network from blowing up Las Vegas. Obliterated stars Nick Zano, Shelley Hennig, Terrence Terrell, Paola Lázaro, C. Thomas Howell and Eugene Kim.

Jackpot! Netflix‘s raunchy action-comedy Obliterated dropped last week and it is blowing up. Currently #2 in their Top 10, the wild ride about an elite team of Special Forces operatives (led by Nick Zano‘s McKnight and Shelley Hennig‘s Ava) racing to save Las Vegas from a terrorist’s bomb has had quite the journey to the small screen. “[We] have been talking about for a long time,” says Jon Hurwitz, who joined co-showrunners, writers and fellow Cobra Kai EPs Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald in Sin City last month to discuss the series. “It was originally a feature idea that we were thinking of, but every time we tried to tackle it, it always felt like we didn’t have enough real estate on the page.” Noting that in 120-page feature film script didn’t leave much room “to dig in” to characters like team helicopter pilot Paul (played by...

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? At least, that’s how it’s supposed to be, but I can’t help but spill the beans on a fantastic trip I recently took to Sin City for the launch of Netflix‘s new series, Obliterated. Premiering today on Netflix, this eight-episode series comes from the guys behind Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, and is a gloriously profane and non-pc throwback to their Harold & Kumar days – albeit with a heavy dose of Jerry Bruckheimer-style action thrown in.
The show focuses on an elite team of Navy Seals, led by Nick Zano’s Chad McKnight, who, along with a CIA agent, Ava Winters (Shelley Henning) and her tech wiz, Maya (Kimi Rutledge), have just taken down a terrorist cell planning to blow up Las Vegas. To celebrate a well-done job, the team decides to do what...

Recently, I was lucky enough to interview Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald about their brand-new Netflix show, Obliterated. The series, which follows a very inebriated Navy Seal team trying to take down a terrorist cell in Vegas, is a hilarious mix of intense action and comedy headed by a terrific cast that includes Nick Zano and Shelley Hennig. Yet, of everyone, the show is all but stolen by eighties legend C. Thomas Howell, who shows up as the group’s somewhat insane bomb expert.
In the show, his character, Haggerty, seems to save the day in the opening action sequence and celebrates by getting – as the title suggests – Obliterated. Yet, while the rest of the team indulges mostly in booze (and some mild drugs), he goes all in anything he can find, winding up comatose for several episodes. He steals the show being carried around...

Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald initially set out to write Obliterated as a feature film. But the creators of Netflix’s latest action comedy changed their minds. They felt their ensemble cast of characters would be best served in a series where they would have time to explore each one in depth, and be able to give each character their own adventure.
The result is the eight-episode series now streaming on Netflix, which follows an elite special forces team — made up of an ensemble cast led by Nick Zano and Shelley Hennig — who wake up with a massive hangover and attempt to break up a deal for a nuclear weapon that could obliterate Las Vegas. Terrence Terrell, Paola Lázaro, Kimi Rutledge, Eugene Kim, C. Thomas Howell, Alyson Gorske and Carl Lumbly round out the cast.

Plot: Obliterated is a high octane action-comedy from the creators of Cobra Kai that tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.
Review: When an elite team of special forces, commandos, and spies team up to save the day, that is usually the end of the story. The credits typically roll on a happy ending once the bad guy is killed and the world is saved. The new series Obliterated looks at what happens when that celebration is premature in a blend of the team action of The A-Team with the drug and alcohol-fueled excess of The Hangover.

Especially in its early installments, 24 used to build in a midseason pause. Jack Bauer would achieve what he thought was his goal — securing the bomb, identifying the conspiratorial kingpin, etc. — and then, after enough time to take a breath but not enough time to use the bathroom, he would discover a Bigger bomb or realize that behind the apparently Big Bad was a Bigger Bad. Gasp!
But what if, instead of merely taking that breath, Jack Bauer had celebrated securing yet another victory for America by doing the keg stand to end all keg stands or dropping a tab of acid — and only then figured out that he still had half a day’s worth of torture, cliffhangers and mountain lions in store?
That — or perhaps just “It’s The Hangover as a ’90s action movie!” — is the hook for Netflix’s new series Obliterated, from the Cobra Kai trio of Jon Hurwitz,...

Forget about staying gold. Ponyboy is staying lit! In Netflix‘s about-to-drop action-comedy Obliterated, The Outsiders icon C. Thomas Howell is grizzled, grabby, and all sorts of effed-up as Haggerty, one of the elite Special Forces agents racing to stop a terror plot to destroy Vegas. His specialty: Defusing bombs. And getting bombed. And he’s not the only one feeling a little frisky. In TV Insider’s exclusive clip, which you can watch above, Haggerty’s cohorts — including an impressively ripped Nick Zano as wiseass McKnight and Teen Wolf vet Shelley Hennig‘s team leader Ava — sweat it out as their resident bomb expert attempts to set the perfect mood for beating the clock. And because nothing is ever what you expect with this high-octane hoot from the makers of Cobra Kai, he of course lands on a classic as covered by Michael Bublé. As McKnight notes, “all bomb guys are weird.

The Israeli-Gaza morass this week seemed to defy coherent media coverage, reminding me of critic David Thomson’s conclusion about Hollywood war movies and how they “used to celebrate courage, not confusion.”
Thomson’s new book, The Fatal Alliance, deals with the history of the war movie from Gallipoli to Saving Private Ryan, guiding readers from “war is hell” to “war is a blur.”
The war movie once constituted a reliable genre product for Hollywood, along with the Western and the musical. To be sure, Israel-Gaza is a tragedy of enormous and dramatic proportions, as symbolized by its chaotic cross-cutting from drones to tunnels.
From Paths of Glory to Dunkirk, war movies once set forth a structure and pathos to guide audiences through the nihilism of combat.

Review: If you are a fan of Bill Burr’s stand-up comedy, you likely know what you are in for with Old Dads. Burr’s directorial debut is an amalgam of his observations and rants from his twenty-plus years as a comedian told through the fictional story of a trio of fifty-year-olds dealing with generational change. On the heels of a year that has seen semi-autobiographical films starring comedians like Burt Kreischer and Sebastian Maniscalco and the series Bupkis with Pete Davidson, Old Dads is a fictional story that relies heavily on Burr’s sense of humor. But, instead of capitalizing on Burr’s red-hot temper as a source of constant comedy, Old Dads is a relatively traditional movie that tries to tell several different kinds of stories without...

Three fiftysomething jerks extend their adolescence way, way beyond the breaking point in Old Dads, a boorish and obnoxiously vulgar comedy that, since it can’t claim any other great distinction, might well have been expressly written to break the all-time record for use of the f-word in the major studio movie. Even Lenny Bruce might be twitching in his grave over this one.
All the same, director/co-writer Bill Burr has more often than not had his finger on the pulse of the populace, so this slap-dash-feeling Netflix offering likely will prove a solid audience-pleaser.
There certainly have been plenty of comedies featuring guys who put off behaving like adults for as long as they can; perhaps The Odd Couple still stands as the quintessential example of this subgenre whose roots go pretty deep. In this case, the three buds behave as if they should be enrolled, not in grade school,...

People say, “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” but what if what’s happening is a five-kiloton nuclear bomb and the team sent to disarm it is hungover to all hell? Netflix is promising a wild night thanks to the first trailer for “Obliterated,” the latest show from “Cobra Kai” creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald. All eight of the hourlong episodes will be able to stream starting November 30.
Described as a high octane Vegas adventure, “Obliterated” follows an elite special forces team that thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. At least, that’s what they think. As they’re halfway through their celebratory binge, they learn the bomb they disarmed was actually a decoy. Now high and drunk, this team has to find and deactivate the real bomb or else Vegas will blow sky high. Think live-action “Archer” with a Netflix budget.
“Even though I’m half drunk and he is fully drunk and high, we’re the only people on the planet who can keep it from getting blown to hell,” Shelley Hennig as Ava Winters says in the trailer.

Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming action comedy Obliterated, which hails from the creators of megahit Cobra Kai.
The wild and fast-paced trailer is a two-minute tease that asks what it would be like if 24 and The Hangover crossed over. Starring Nick Zano and Shelley Hennig, the eight-episode series follows an elite special forces team after they believe they’ve saved the world from a nuclear bomb threat.
But upon waking up — and with a nasty hangover, no less — the team receives a call that the threat they neutralized was a fake and they have only hours to find and thwart the real one. The problem is, much of the team hasn’t quite sobered up, meaning they must fight through a wall of bad guys, their own personal issues and a few substance impairments to locate the real bomb and save the day.
