The Ice Road (2021)
terrible movie
Complete garbage. Poor writing with circumstances that seem forced and just killing off people unnecessarily, deaths that don't even add to the suspense, which was non-existent in this movie to begin with. Sad i wasted my time with this. Thats 2 hour of my life i will never get back.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
best spiderman movie hands down
Andrew garfield and emma stone are amazing in it. This is the most spiderman-like adaptation that stays true to the original comics, and doesn't make spiderman look stupid like they did in tobey mcguire's or the mcu version. Spiderman should be very smart and strategic, and spider-like in his movement. TASM got this down the best, hands down. It makes me love and support the film more since it is so criticized and hated by some people, calling it the "worst spiderman installment". Im sure a lot of people feel the same way as me that this is the best one. We just don't go around looking for fights online.
Eksiteu (2019)
you can see everything coming from miles away
Stereotypical characters, having absolutely no depth. Waste of time to watch, poor acting (perhaps except jo jung suk) and very bad cg/effects. But again, the thing that ruined the film was the story, all very easy to predict and characters with no depth.
Wonder Woman (2017)
fun movie
Fun movie to watch. Great message. I would also like to believe that ares is the cause of all evil. Humans all have good in them, but some make the wrong decision and decide to be evil. But i believe more and more people will decide right as the time passes. We humans will continue to get better, love more, and experience greater happiness. I loved steve as a character. He was gentleman-ly and kind and honest, not condescending or arrogant in any way. Truly a good man. Overall, a good film to watch with a good message.
Flipped (2010)
great movie.
Loved it. Bryce is so handsome, i could totally empathize with Juli when she would talk about his dazzling eyes. And then when Bryce did some really mean things to her, I could once again totally empathize with Juli and thought he was a complete jerk. The whole story was very relatable to me in general. Wonderful movie.
Equals (2015)
the ending made me feel depressed
The end was not definitive enough for me. I hate movies that leave an open-ended ending. It broke my heart to think about what it would mean if Silas could no longer feel no emotions, and how difficult it would be for Nia. And she was pregnant too, and bearing the feelings of fear and loneliness that Silas can no longer feel, completely alone in a sense. The movie does leave room for hope that Silas will overcome the effects of the cure and still feel emotion after all, but I just hated how the movie stressed me out with its open-ended finish.
Wrath of Man (2021)
great, has some weaknesses but nevertheless enjoyed jt
Overall i liked the movie, it had great acting and great editing/directing. The script/story-plot, however, was not too solid, along with the action itself. The action scenes were a bit underwhelming and the story was a bit... morally contradicting. But still, loved the male lead's acting and the way the movie was directed/edited. The movie employed a unique way of presenting its story that kept me engaged even with its weak plot.
The Marksman (2021)
badly made movie
Poor writing with no proper cause and effect, dog dying for absolutely NO reason and it doesnt even make sense because the dog had been so smart the whole movie. The writers just decide randomly to make the dog approach the cartel men alone. Either way a stupid death, the dog did not deserve that and it wasnt a meaningful death either. The action scenes were a disappointment, except for only one scene where neeson makes a car flip over. The movie is slow and boring and the ending is the cherry on top, with liam neeson basically dying (tho wikipedia says "unconscious" but stupid nonetheless how he didnt even call 911 right away and go to the hospital. Its unrealistic that the mexican cartel would have its hands on every police/hospital in the U. S. and he couldhv easily gotten help right after the "big fight" at the end.) besides, if the cartel is so powerful with its hands stretched out so wide then how does he know its safe for miguel once he is with his aunt in chicago?? Cant the cartel easily find him there if they are that determined to find miguel? I guess since the boss guy died theres less danger of that, but this movie had poor writing nonetheless. Neeson and miguel also burn all the money that miguel's mother saved for her son as she died. My family and i all laughed at that part because of how ridiculous it was.
Oxygène (2021)
why do all french movies suck so hard
The french language is so absolutely beautiful to me, ive taken french as my language class for all 7 yrs of my middle school+high school because of it, but BOY do i gotta say french movies suck. The plot, man. Just dumb and frustrating. Pointless plot that fails to engage. I guess i loved the sound of french actors speaking tho... smh;; and i guess im glad the ending was a happy ending. So i gave it 1 star instead of 0 l.o.l.
Tangled (2010)
best disney movie imo
The message the film sends is great. Very uplifting. It tells us to keep hoping, and to put yourself out there. It tells us that there are bad people and good people, but that good will win in the end. It was very so satisfying to see rapunzel free herself from her fake "mother"'s gaslighting even tho she was tricked by her for YEARS. The songs are very pretty as well, especially i see the light where both mandy moore and zachary levi sing in harmony. I got a dream was also such a fun song with a cute message. Though people may look scary, they are also people with innocent dreams. Everyone was a child at one point, innocent at one point. Anyways, a beautiful movie. Felt that rapunzel and eugene had the best chemistry between any couples from disney animation movies.
The Fall (2013)
sort of dark but, many great lessons about morality and mental health issues
Sort of dark but, many great lessons about morality and mental health issues
the serial killer man had some serious issues, but the show really plays the devil's advocate and makes the viewers question, "are psychopaths born or created?" in this case, i honestly felt for the serial killer, though he did many terrible things and i feel so bad for the victims and their families as well. But this series felt very down to earth, with the harsh realities shown, and it seemed to really show the viewers what magnitude of damage child sexual abuse/witnessing mother's suicide can do. Its honestly one of the most
terrible things a child can go through, and i was so glad that the fall wasnt based on some true story. That would have quite literally broken my heart. I wish the serial killer paid the price and had justice served to him instead of him killing himself at the end. But again, the show was very realistic. We often see people who've done terrible crimes kill themselves. This show incited a lot of thoughts and reflection in my head.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
could not get invested in the plot that much
Did not see why this was so hyped. Didnt really get the message that this show was trying to say and even tho the whole chess visualization effect was cool, i felt like the character had no dimension to her. It was great performance by Harry, though. Did not recognize him as the Dudley from Harry Potter at all.
Chaos Walking (2021)
cute movie
Not really a 10, but its definitely higher than a 5.6 so i gave it a 10 to make the rating more accurate. This film is like an 8 imo.
Im happy about how they portrayed the story, it was easy going and fun to watch during the hard times we are in. Tom holland was really suited to the role,
as was daisy ridley. Cute, easygoing movie. I liked it.
The Bourne Identity (2002)
beautiful movie
Beautiful movie. Great job by matt damon, and my goodness the chemistry between him and the russian actress (im sorry i forgot your name) was off the charts. And the movie plot itself, with just the right amount of suspense and immersiveness, it was just such a treat. Thank u directors and producers and actors for this great movie.
Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
too overhyped
Think this movie was overhyped. It was good, but i think the overhyping ruined it for me. I found that emily blunt and tom cruise didnt have much chemistry either... but the plot was amazing. The whole time loop/ ground hog theme always interests me and so this wasnt a complete waste of time. (SLIGHT SPOILER) i also liked that it had a happy ending, i hate when movies have a sad ending to make it more "artistic" or more "original." please, there are ways to make a story original without a sad ending.
The Last of Us (2013)
the story is beautiful
Man this game was so beautiful. I didnt even play it tbh, i just watched its playthrough like 5 times. Thats when you know it's good. Cuz it takes so many runs to get sick of it. And it still stayed with me as a wonderful memory. Please make more games like these. The dlc wasnt so great, neither the last of us 2. Please make more games like the last of us 1 naughty dog!!!
Minari (2020)
unrelatable and boring even as a korean immigrant
Bad movie. So boring. Yawned many times, yoon yeojung was good at acting but she was even better in Canola and numerous other korean movies. If people think this is the peak of her acting n she deserves an oscar for it, she deserves 100x oscars for all the other work she did that were way more amazing in my opinion. And as a korean american, i did not relate to minari in one bit, which is strange. Maybe director lee isaac chung had a very niche experience. O well. Idk why people could relate so well to this movie. Did not see anything i see in my own immigrant experience in the US or relationships in my family. Oh well \_ (shrug shoulder)
Nobody (2021)
great movie
Great movie. The action is satisfying, refreshing, and tho a bit gory at times i can just cover my eyes because you can expect it coming right before it happens. Love bob odenkirk. Wonderful acting and beautiful movie with great choice of songs that are from old times.
