More Bark Then Bite
It's worth watching maybe once or with in a group so everyone can have a ball the spectacle of the absurdity, but on its own it take more time to being "cool" and "edgy" then having a well written story. Ever wonder what its like to watch your favorite DC superheros kill? Ever wanted to watch DC go as gore heavy as Saw? Those are in this movie and its a ball. Do you want a well written story with character arcs? How about have you wanted Damien and Raven to become a confirmed couple? How about all your favorite DC superheros who aren't on the poster get unceremoniously killed? All of these and more are in the movie as well and they suck all the fun out of this movie. Get drunk with your friends and make fun of this movie. That's all its really worth.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
A bit to much...
Much like other people who have reviews for this movie I'm going to talk about the Fempower aspects in this movie first so it can just be done and over with. Yes, this movie goes "woke". Yes it is annoying. Not a single male character is shown to be "good". From the borderline laughable portrait of Misogyne that is Black Mask, to the credit stealing police captain, and even a spoiler but still you'll know it when you see it. It almost makes it hard to enjoy anything when theirs not a single character that's a person unless they happen to be female, and even then all they really feel like is shells for female impowerment. Now, that's out of the way. The voice over is used WAY TO MUCH and the flashbacks are used in order to be "different" but shows how little of a story they have. Is their good?
Yes, actually their a few good things. The editing isn't the worst DC films have had and the action fits the over the top nature of the movie which makes it fun to watch. The set desing lends itself well to having what amounts to a cool acid trip which I enjoy. The acting is....ok. All the actors are fine and you can tell they are having fun. which makes you feel like you're having fun.
Is this movie good? Not even close but their is a sense of enjoyment to be had. Maybe, if u got drunk or high you could enjoy the amount of colors that go on the screen. If u want a movie that actually gives these characters any amount of depth that they should get (both men and women) go watch Assault on Arkham.

A ok idea overshadowed by the painful script
So, Chris Stuckmann is making movies now. Is good? well no not really, but is it bad? Yes, but for fixable reasons.
The idea of a screen writer needing to finally make a jump to making respected movies is one that can feel emotional to people who are writers, and in that lies the biggest issue with this movie. The script feels like it's tailor made for writers (which is an obvious stand in for Chris) and not much else. All the emotional scenes lose any sense of emotion when it revolves around characters you don't feel connected to. On top of that we go over 3 distinct feelings between the two characters that feel rushed given the short run time of the movie. If you've seen the movie you know these moments.
As for the good parts. The camera work isn't bad. It's nothing stylized or experimental, but for a low budget short film it works. The editing is solid leading to some fun moments from John as the D movie actor. The sound work isn't bad either, giving what could have been really bad audio to this film we actually have well recorded audio, so that deserves props.
I loved Chris for his videos for many years. So I want to see him get somewhere with his career, but that being said I think he should pick either being a film writer (in which he need to work on opening up his writing to a larger demographic and saving his passion projects for when he's finally made it) or being a film maker (in which he shows a lot of promise but really needs to find his style) and find a writer for his ideas.
