A Rose for Her Grave: The Randy Roth Story (2023)
A chilling story
The acting by Chrishell Stause and Colin Egglesfield was superb. The story was very sad and revolting, but I was glad to see that justice was served. This movie could bring awareness to some very big issues.
I also have to applaud the acting of the children in this movie.
Rachel Stubington's acting was on point.
Since I hadn't heard the story before, I didn't know what would happen, and it completely shocked me. The injustice, the extent to the horror this man inflicted.
The movie is a very realistic depiction of a very troubled man who harmed so many women, with a disturbed view of the world and complete lack of empathy or self-awareness.
I'm Calling Your Father (2020)
Perfect presentation of a snippet from Macedonian mentality
The distrust in the system is the prevailing element here. The distrust of the mother for the police to punish the perpetrator. The girl training karate to defend herself.
And the harshness of the sun against a boy getting what he deserved without trial.
Before Midnight (2013)
Heartbreaking
For me, this movies was so heartbreaking. The first two, they were so in love, and they couldn't move on from each other. And now, she ruins every moment they ever had. The way they found each other again, the pinball machine moment, their passion, even the fact that he eternalized her with his writing. He was in so much pain that even when he was marrying someone else, he still expected her to show up. And even while married, he never gave up hope he'd find her, and that's why he wrote the book. And now, years later she HATES the book. She always says it wasn't her in that book, she doesn't want to sign it etc. I think there was a reason why in the second movie she couldn't find anybody to marry. She's a deeply troubled person, and he's just a poor romantic who fell in love with her. I think in time she's going to leave him. And I think it's true, she doesn't love him anymore. It's so heartbreaking to see him try to win her in the end, even after she told him she doesn't love him. If the roles were reversed, and he told her that, she'd pack her bags and take the kids with her.
