Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)
Can't stop watching
My cousins friend stayed with us a few months, he told me he watched this in prison, had me watch it, I've watched it 7 times since. Showed it to my cousin's husband, next day we watch together with our friends. I went to visit family and had my friend watch it. It's definitely a movie if you're stoned or tripping. I'm glad I found it good quality on YouTube cause it's not on any streaming services. I've listened to the soundtrack countless times, John Reilly really can sing, I wish he'd do more comedies like this. One of my top 5 for sure. I recommend to pretty much anyone. Sad how underrated it is.
I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019)
Terrible asf
I don't know how it is so highly reviewed. Watched 20 minutes with my cousin while I was tripping mushrooms, you'd think it be funny high, nothing about it was funny, it was like a family guy joke stretched 5 times long, and it's not even funny when they hit the point of the joke. My cousin said this guy's stand up is apparently funny, we kept looking back and forth like "what the hell even is this". Most boring and awkward sketch comedy I've ever seen, and I thought Whitney Cummings was bad, this set the stone in the wall. I don't know how to further this review so pee pee poo poo this show sucks.
Disenchanted (2022)
Not as good as I hoped, bad casting choice too
Giselle went from sunshine and rainbows to "imma WandaVision everyone" all because Morgan has grown up and got annoyed by the constant singing. So Giselle uses magic to control the whole town at her will. Her rival who ends up as the "evil queen" (don't mean to hate Maya Rudolph....but I'm serious) she looked like the cartoon version of Ursula. Idk who the makeup person and costume designer was but she looked...bad. The music was average considering it's the Enchanted sequel. Maya Rudolph's character didn't exactly have a true point, maybe I didn't pay much attention but her and her group of friends seemed pointless to the story, it's like they just needed a mean person and then they're like "oh let's make her a villain for 40 minutes".
Also...why call it Disechanted when Giselle is enchanting everything?
American Satan (2017)
As good as I expected it to be, in a good way.
This movie is underrated, being a fan of most of the actors in this film, it came out to be as good as expected.
They first mentioned this movie being made back in 2014, they would tease about it for two years on Instagram until they gave a theater date, although it was in select theaters. Now yes it was annoying having to wait a few months for someone to post a good quality version on a movie site, but the wait was worth it.
The people who made this movie are a bunch of young actors, most have never been in a movie besides YouTube videos years ago or someone who hasn't done much acting in over 10 years (Drake Bell). The acting of Andy and Ben was better then I expected it to be, although I have seen what they have done on YouTube which is impressive for a YouTube series, but for a movie I didn't think Andy's acting to be as good it was.
The only problem I actually have with this movie, is how the use the singer of Palaye Royale, a pitchy not to great voice, over Andy. Andy is in a band himself and has a great masculine voice. To put a pitchy singing voice over a masculine male voice was just....weird and kinda cringy.
Besides that, they spent their time writing a entire soundtrack and making "The Relentless" an actual band pretty much for the movie and future tv show. They'll even put out another for the show so that's impressive to put as much work into the movie as they did.
The reason this movie is underrated is specifically because people can't appreciate how much work these people put into making this film, but by the so called flaws that aren't even that bad.
This movie definitely isn't perfect, but it is entertaining, it has a badass soundtrack, and a interesting story.
