Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Glad I didn't buy a ticket to watch this
I have enjoyed the Thor movies that came before "Love & Thunder," but this one was just bad. I had heard/read reviews about the poor attempts at humor, but overlooked them because I always make up my own mind, and rarely agree with bad reviews from critics, especially about humor. However, I found this movie completely un-funny and I kept waiting for the barely-there plot to develop. I was interested to see how the Jane-as-Thor happened, and I'm not mad at that because although I am not a comic book fan, I do know that it was taken from the comic books as were the goats. I will say that the one thing I enjoyed was when the children got the power of Thor "for a limited time only." After watching the movie I read some positive critic reviews and cam concerned that they were posted under the incorrect movie title because there's no way a person with any intelligence could say those things about "Love & Thunder." If I had paid money to see this in the theater I would be seriously upset that I wasted my money on this woke garbage. Don't waste your time.
After We Leave (2019)
Even the title is misleading
Please don't waste your time. I read a bunch of the 1- and 2-Star reviews, as well as several higher ones, (even a 10 😂) so I went in hoping for at least a halfway decent experience because I don't always agree with the majority reviews. However, this is one of the absolute WORST movies I ever watched. The premise had possibilities, but the script was bad, the editing was worse, the pace was extremely slow. It was a grungy post-apocalyptic setting with no backstory about why things were in such a state. The only thing remotely "sci-if" was the shot from the trailer which showed the main character watching three ships launch and one brief glimpse of the moon with lights on it supposedly indicating a settlement. I hoped that the "shocking" "twist" ending would at least offer a small payoff for sticking with it, but I was sadly mistaken.
I always try to leave one positive comment about every movie I review, but try as hard as I might, I can't think of even one redeeming quality for this one...even the title is misleading.
Godmothered (2020)
Oh, Disney. You've lost your magic.
Let me start by saying I'm a Disney fan, and I was prepared to love Godmothered. It's Disney, after all. Fairy godmother in training, mixup with time, a family in need of love and joy at Christmas. Clearly a recipe for success, right? Wrong. I soon gave up my expectations of loving it and decided it would be one of those "likeable enough" movies, only to downgrade again to "I'll stick it out to the end; surely it won't be a complete waste of time." Sadly, it was such a disappointment that I am spending even more time on it writing a review.
Predictable, slow, and boring.
Very few characters with any depth.
Feeble attempts at humor, most of which fell flat.
Sad. Just sad.
Horns (2013)
I can't believe I sat through that
This is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. I didn't know anything about it at all, and only watched it because I wanted to see Daniel Radcliffe in a different role from Harry Potter. I must say I was impressed with His American accent and his acting, but otherwise it was a stinker. The screenwriters obviously have an extremely limited vocabulary, and although I attempted to keep an open mind and give it a chance, I found much of the movie offensive. The number of positive reviews this movie received is astounding, and I can't believe I stuck with it to the end. I kept thinking it had to get better at some point, but it never did.
