Scream (2022)
Absolutelly terrible
The high score set my expectations high, I went to the cinema expecting a great re-que, but ended up regretting spending my money on the ticket. The movie was a boring sob-fest, Scream is supposed to be a silly horror movie, not some emotional flick.
(SPOILERS AHEAD, MORE DETAILED REVIEW)
The casting was bad, the main character, Sam, is supposed to be the daughter of Billy Loomis (The killer from the first film), however there is no resemblance to him, Sam's sister Tara looks way more like Billy (Even though she is not related to him). Vince was an unnecessary character, he had like 5 minutes of screen time and then was killed off, what was the reason to have his character in the film? To make us think he's the killer... for only 5 minutes? Nobody sobbed after his death, nobody acknowledged he was dead, so why was he even in the film? I wanted to walk out half-way through the movie, but I kept hoping it would get better. But it never got better. Dewey was killed off way too easily, he survived the other films, I'm guessing his nine lives ran out, or maybe the writers wanted an excuse to include another long and boring sobbing scene.
Overall I do not recommend going to see this movie.
Aku no hana (2013)
I loved it
It is a thought provoking series that leaves you shocked after every episode. Because of the unique artstyle and no usual anime cheesyness it feels almost like you're watching a live action show rather than an animated one, each character has a uniqueness to them which makes you get attached to them no matter how the characted behaves. The ending left me questioning what happened so I will deffinely have to watch the series again.
Queen of the Damned (2002)
Pretty bad
I liked the cinematography, the color palletes and moods of some scenes but the acting was really bad at some places and made me cringe. Only after watching the movie I found out that it was supposed to be a sequel for "Interview with a vampire" and I can say that it didn't do any justice for the storyline, would not watch again.
Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Left me speechless
This movie is a masterpiece, heck, calling it a masterpiece is an understatement. I have never seen a movie so touching and intimate. Not gonna lie, when I started watching the movie It seemed a bit boring to me, but the more I watched the more I was glued to the screen. The dialogues were well thought out and felt natural, the interactions between characters looked realistic. Over the time I became more and more interested in Elio's life, sympathizing with him, being able to understand what he's feeling.
Many people bring up pedophilia when talking about this movie, and all I want to say about that: it's bull. First of all, Elio is 17, which is above the age of consent. Secondly: The movie is not about that, it's not about emphasizing the age gap, it's about pure, unconditional love.
What I also love is the fact that the word gay wasn't even used once throughout the movie. How I said before, It's not a movie about specific type of love, it's just about love... Well, to be honest, it's also about a heartbreak. Oliver's and Elio's summer fling ended up in flames. No matter how much they loved each other it all had to end. Oliver can't stay forever and eventually found someone else, leaving Elio shattered. The last scenes portrayed Elio's feelings perfectly. The action takes part in winter, portraying the emptiness and the death of what Oliver and Elio had. The moody blue lighting also helps to portray how upset Elio is over Oliver finding someone else. After the call with Oliver ends, you expect for Elio to throw a fit, scream, shout, but you get none of that. He just sits and cries while staring at a fireplace. And my boy Timothee acts throughout the credits. You know that the film has ended, but you just can't peel your eyes away from the screen and continue to look at Elio crying. And then bam, he looks directly into the camera. It was a breaking point for me, I started bawling my eyes out after that. This movie changed my outlook on life and love. I never felt the same after watching this film. I would watch this movie again and again and again.
El ángel (2018)
Loved it.
One of the best movies I have ever seen. The cinematography, the acting, the music, the whole vibe in general is just amazing, it definitely made me feel some type of way that I can not explain, very few movies manage to do that. Yes, I realize that this film is about a criminal and that what Carlos Robledo Puch did is wrong, however I don't think that the movie romanticized him in any way shape or form. It was very interesting to see how the character interacts with other people. I also love that the film obviously showed that it's not the parent's fault that Carlos is a criminal, the contrast is quite prominent between the characters. It is always easy to put the blame on parents without realizing that everyone has a mind of their own. 10/10 would recommend.
Blue My Mind (2017)
A waste of time.
It was boring, made me skip a couple of times, the cinematography was admirable only in a few places, the rest was bland. It felt as though you were watching another angsty teen movie than a story about a mermaid, making it seem that the mermaid part was just a little background play to make things more interesting. The only thing that clued she could be a mermaid was her eating raw fish once in a while, most of the film focused on her drinking, partying, abusing drugs and having sex. I honestly can't understand what kind of message they were trying to send, but I believe they failed. Would not recommend or watch again.
