The Dark Knight (2008)
Very well done, but it ain't Batman
Don't get me wrong, this was a well done movie. JOker was played perfectly. However i cannot see this being the best Batman movie let alone the best movie ever. Ledger's death over hypes it, however that is not my problem. They try to take every amount of corniness out of this movie that just having JOker and Batman in it just makes it corny by accident. It has no atmosphere of Gotham City as well. Bale is a disgusting Batman in my opinion. He's a great Bruce Wayne, but he sounds like a mix of McGruff the crime dog and Barry White when he's Batman. Also, the fighting style is awkward. It has proved time and time again for the batman movies since '89 (excluding Batman and Robin = total rubbish), that Batman is not the focus. It's all about the villain(s). Although the only good Batman has been Michael Keaton. NOw I do really like this movie, however i cut it up because i like Batman and Batman Returns better.
Halloween (1978)
The best horror movie..........ever.
This movie is truly amazing. For a movie as low as the budget, 300 g's, it is done very well. WHat i liked is that there was like no blood, because suspense is what makes most horror movies. you can get gore like saw or Texas chainsaw massacre, but that is just pure gore, no suspense. Donald PLeasance and Jamie Lee Curtis have excellent performances, showing the obsessed doctor, and the unaware quiet smarty pants who babysits for extra cash on the side. And there is this guy, who just stalks her and decides to do whatever to reach her to KILL her. I think why that storyline is so powerful is because many people can relate to a movie such as this in their real lives. A babysitter is worldly by virtually everybody, and that certainly gives it a good affect on people because really, it could happen to anybody in the movie world or not. But the only thing is........Michael Myers isn't a man........he is evil on two legs............
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
Better than the first
This is a great movie if you look solely for action. If you're expecting more, don't expect that. I wish that these movies followed the games a bit more....but what are you going to do right? But Jill definitely made this movie better. First of all she's really HOT and she carries a gun, there is nothing better than that. Finally, a GOOD character comes into the story. Milla Jovovich definitely plays her part, but if it was just her, it wouldn't be the same. Although the camera work was awful and there was barely any plot, the movie sells in its 90 minutes of packed action. A 7 out of 10 is good enough for this movie, but I wish it could have been more gory, but oh well......once again 7/10
Do the Right Thing (1989)
On the hottest day of this summer, unless you have a pool, STAY INSIDE and WATCH this movie!
I love this movie. It is obvious that this movie would have been one of racial conflicts, but conflict is what makes a movie so good. One thing although I don't understand is, why is it a pizzeria? Like it is a good idea, since Italians own and run it, but its the hottest day of the summer, people want ice cream, i think that would have been the more logical choice concerning the circumstances, but still overall amazing. Also, the different characters in the movie are good. They all have different personalities, that tie together and have a great effect. Spike Lee usually writes good dramatic movies with some comedy here and there, so kudos to him. Watch this movie if you like ones that deal with racism, because after you watch it, you won't forget........10/10
Rescue Me (2004)
Rescue Me, based on firefighter/alcoholic character Tommy Gavin
This is a foregoing' great show. I love all the characters, especially Tommy. He has so many problems but still manages to be funny, well i guess that is Denis Leary for you. It always comes up with entertaining funny story lines that make you want more. I like Johnny Gavin too, (Dean Winters). He has acted very well in the movies and shows i have seen him in and he should be written into the story lines more. Tommy always sees people who have died in the past like Jimmy and Jesus and I like how he always argues with them, what an alcoholic. Anyway if you like funny dramas, please watch this show. You wont regret it and you will be satisfied with this show.
Boston Public (2000)
A show that shows deep characters, with their conflicts inside the school and their personal lives.
This was a really fine show when it first came out. The characters are very, very good and show different personalities. Like Guber, the "Nazi" as called by fellow students, was a real strict VP and I liked how the guy was so desperate for women at times. Also, Harry Senate, the young smart mouth man with a sarcastic attitude but seems to have a good heart deep down. This show was well done the first two seasons, but the good FOX shows seem to be good for the first few seasons, then the writing gets bad and the show just keeps going farther downhill until there is cancellation. But seasons 3 & 4 weren't too bad, fox just wants the highest ratings possible. There are various extreme story lines in the show like a sex room in the school, teachers screwing students, a hostage situation. Now not all of these things are common in every school but they do happen. This show needs things like that it gives it the entertainment and drama. If this show did not have it, it would be very boring and have been canceled fast. But a great show nonetheless and great actors. Bravo Boston Public, damn, I miss this show
Oz (1997)
Life inside Ozwald Penitentiary, a prison that follows conflicts between a wide variety of prisoners.
What a great show! A very underrated dramatic show. It is great how there are no main characters and every episode some other character(s) are the main character(s).I think the best character on the show is Vern Schillinger. He is a tough, bad guy and an Aryan on top of that which makes him a true bad guy prisoner who there are many that are known to be. This show has many murders, I think it is a little over exaggerated for the killing on the show, but I have to admit that is one of the reasons why I think the show is so great.I think some characters were killed off a little early, but some sure still made their mark. You can't compare things like Prison Break to this show, they are totally different. I think some of the actors on the show are also very good and underrated and should what is due to them. A great show, my favorite's. A show that should be considered of the the greats for years to come.
