Fantasy Island (2020)

4.9 is way too much

2020 was an awful year for cinema, but nothing justifies investing 7 million in this. The plot twists are laughable and barely connected to the story. Despite showing some traces of personality, there are no likeable or engaging characters. In fact, I'm not even sure if I can call this a horror movie, because most of it tries to be some kind of comedy. Anyway, it's a confused and unpolished mess that doesn't know what it wants to be and tries to be everything while being absolutely nothing.

The animation is decent for an independent movie. The voice acting is weak, but it's not terrible. The story is good and the climax is strong. I could watch it again.

One of my favorite animations of all time. The characters are faithful to the comics and the rythm is perfect. Totally better than the 2015 movie.
