Vengeance (2022)
I really loved this movie
This is a really good watch, I laughed out loud a bunch of times and really enjoyed all the characters. Seems many of them are based on extreme versions of people in our society but all of them being relatable on some level. My favorite character had to be the brother and like other reviewers wrote the character played by Ashton. The brother really was the one making my laugh. This movie is filled with interested and thought provoking ideas and speeches given throughout, some of them insane and others feel like they're on to something but it's interesting none the less. The way that it all was written and put together just makes it all solid. Haven't felt that way about a movie in a while. Hats off to B. J. Novak.
Parenthood (1989)
They just don't make 'em like this no mo'
I was laughing out loud several times during this movie. Mostly at the parts they would never put in a movie these days and the things that get people canceled in todays world. I have a toddler and a newborn so this is made for people like me. Might be my favorite Steve Martin movie but all the characters are spot on and really help fill out the family well. Crazy to see Joaquin Phoenix as a young kid playing little Garry, my wife spotted it right away and I had to look it up on my IMDB app, can't go without it. I highly recommend this movie if you are a parent, they cast a wide net so there's bound to be parts of it that you will relate to or find funny.
Glass Onion (2022)
Wish I didn't waste my time
It starts off promising you think and hope, the second act is decent and then as it unfolds it really didn't do anything great or worth the wait. Mostly predictable and poorly written. I feel as tho a school aged child could've come up with something more clever to finish the movie. Don't get trapped and tricked into wasting your time. I liked some of the characters or at least the actors that portray them but even they seemed flat and cookie cutter. There are some decent parts and aspects of the movie but in the end you are coming for the clever story and plot twists and to have something happen that you didn't see coming and that's what it's missing.
The Sinner (2017)
Bill Pullman at his best
I love this show, I've seen all four seasons and personally like the first and fourth the best. Harry Ambrose is amazing and I really hope this show gets to continue on another network since USA has canceled it.
