The Principles of Pleasure (2022)
All-in-one Series
I feel like this series had anatomy, politics, science, history, and social constructs in every episode. It strives to educate you about the hidden forces at play that end up becoming the foundation for your subconscious beliefs, such as body insecurities, the right to have pleasure, the differences between men and women in sex, and more. It doesn't educate you about the anatomy as much as it does the society around us.
I think every person might get something different from this show. Personally, I benefited from the EP.2 when they explained why you feel distracted and can never be in the moment during sex. If you have a great sex life, you honestly might not benefit from it, but if there's something hindering you from feeling pleasure and you don't know why, you might find out from this show.
Lastly, I think the organization of the episodes was all over the place and it had me confused. I also would have liked less political and historical stuff because I truly did not care lol. I enjoyed the psychological constructs and such more since I could apply it to myself.
Finding Magic Mike (2021)
I have never fallen in love with a reality show like this one
There, I said it. This show made me fall in love with every single contestant and I genuinely cried when they left, especially towards the end. This show consists of the realest people out there forreal. You will see transformations, huge life lessons, and such strong bonds being formed amongst men. Every single person had to face their insecurities, sense of self worth, and put themselves out there in a way we are all scared to do. I don't know if this show was intended for women but I feel like men would have so much to gain from watching this show. Oh and also it's AMAZING to watch the performances, had me grinning the whole time. This season genuinely made me happy and filled my heart.
Genera+ion (2021)
Shallow, Erratic, and too Extreme.
What is with these characters? I feel like every show is more and more about drugs and pregnancy and betrayal. Do people not realize that real life isn't like this? That there's more to high school than the crazy things? People have personalities that are actually deep. They have layers to them. And jesus, people are actually empathetic. Real life is nothing like this show where every scene looks like they're unstable, yelling at strangers, taking their shirts off in the school court yard. Who made this show? Clearly someone who doesn't understand the depth of actual human psychology. I feel like shows like this are only gonna add to the instability of the teenage mind, not benefit it.
