Big promise but poor finish
13 February 2012
The movie is set in one of the Homicide Dept.in Istanbul, and we have three homicide detectives as leads and each of them represent 3 different eras. Those leads are Sener Sen, Cem Yilmaz and Okan Yalabik. They play their parts considerably well, and we have great director Yavuz Turgul which altogether is a great promise. But that promise is never fulfilled by the weak plot of the movie. We see the crime and we see the clue right in the middle of the movie. That clue ruined me the better experience which movie was promising in the beginning. Cem Yilmaz' acting was good but sometimes felt that he was overacting. Still his versatility stuns us. Sener Sen was great as always in such underwritten role. He plays so easily and creates truly believable character. Okan Yalabik doesn't shine as a rookie cop, but still shows some potential. Cetin Tekindor is great as a main antagonist. But as I said before movie fails to keep its promise due to its weak and predictable script. Overall the movie is OK for a one-time watch

Great New Year Movie
13 February 2012
This movie shows the interconnecting episodes of different people just before the New Year in different parts of Russia, which is by the way the most important holiday in Russia. "Yolki" attracts by its kind and sometimes a bit naive plot, on eternal values like love, friendship, compassion, which works surprisingly well.

We get excited, we laugh and sometimes we feel for the characters, and its great combination of comedy and drama. All actors played their parts quite well. Product placement is not overly annoying as in other Russian movies. The only minus (small) was that movie was quite short and thus episodes interconnection was done in haste. Apart from that it is great family movie.

Could be better....
12 March 2007
The Movie 'Dikari' is about tourists who come to Black Sea region to have a holiday in tents... The aim of the Dikari(Wild) tourists is to find good tent place, get enough booze and find a partner for the night..The main characters are guys who visit the region regularly every year. So,they have enough acquaintances to make their holiday without any unexpected problems..Shortly, film tells about an ordinary summer season in the tourist region. The plot of the film is not very interesting, though the cast is not bad. Marat Basharov, Gosha Kutsenko (from 'Dozor's) have a good performance as main Dikari. As a result, Not good enough to give money for it...
