I thought the concept was original. I liked how mysterious everything was throughout the whole film, especially the ending. The cinematography and the music had this 80's vibe and I loved it.

The perfect example of when a movie is THAT bad that it's impossible to find where to start with it. Acting is lousy. Dialogues were poor. The storyline couldn't be more basic, and the plot-twists more ridiculous. What's with the role of the guy-cop? What does that add to the story? Not a slight dose of suspense or tension throughout the film, when it's evident there was an intention in creating so. Amaia Salamanca is the only remotely interesting segment in this film, and they still managed to make her character flawed to its core. For some reason, I thought there was a minor chance this could end up being somewhat entertaining but nah. Just painful to watch.

The film has no sound at all (I saw it at the cinema and bought some skittles I couldn't end up eating), which I don't mind, but there could've been some soundtrack to it. There clearly is an intention behind that reason I hadn't been able to catch. However, I found it entertaining and new. The camera work unveiled some beautiful results too.

I had the opportunity to watch it with Flying Lotus himself, who then answered some questions and explained how this represented his fears, basically. An utter combination of nonsense and disgust that ended up making me laugh multiple times (animations were pretty cool though). I even felt like needing a shower after watching it. It's nauseating and I loved it.

The questions that are raised are what makes it considered a 'cult movie', I guess, because it certainly makes you think a lot.

Spent the whole film waiting for it to start and it suddenly ended. Can't consider the movie as a comedy or either as a drama - not even that funny, not even that deep. Bryan Cranston's something else though, probably what kept me from sleeping.

I haven't read the book, and maybe that's why I actually enjoyed it. One of my friends did, and explained to me how much more complex and full of sub-plots the book is, and how that complexity leads to a more -at least a little bit- original narrative. We all know that things need to be cut when adaptated and what we ended up getting is quite a basic story. But no one ever wanted to pretend it wasn't, so i'm okay with it. It was well made, and I found it entertaining.

The movie was good. Thought it would blow my mind taking into account what reviewers had been saying and it certainly didn't, but I still enjoyed it. If I had to stand out something, i'd probably highlight Blunt's performance and the visual effects regarding the creatures (though I would've liked them to be a little more mysterious by not showing up so explicitly). However, there are two things i'm quite disturbed by, and those are: given the environment and the world they're living in, why would they want to take the responsibility of bringing a new boy into the world? Maybe it wasn't intentional, but if that's the case, it isn't explained. Could've been that they don't want to let the human race extinct (I read that somewhere) but a little boy who cries is literally the way in which you can extinct humanity. I don't know, but it seems to me as something key to be explained, and quite illogical to be wanted given the situation. Another thing I might have dismissed is why their daughter isn't allowed to go to the basement. I just didn't get it. To sum up, I think the movie fulfils its role as a horror movie and, even though I don't consider it a masterpiece at all, I would never say it's a waste of time.
