How is this movie rated only a 5/10?
31 December 2023
Honestly, this movie caught me off guard. When I first watched it, I put it on based on the short premise offered at the top of the page and THATS IT. When I saw where the story goes, I was presently surprised. The majority of the film takes place in the gunners pod which is located on the under part of the fighter plane which might be distracting for some but I liked the POV storytelling. Aside from the story of a woman fighter pilot in the midst of World War II and her struggles, the story takes a twist when the plane comes under attack from a GREMLIN! And we're not talking Joe Dante Mogwai gremlins, this thing is larger, meaner and scarier than that. Not to mention resilient to no end. If I were you reading this, I would say give it a try, it's worth it.

Killers (2010)

Flawed from the beginning

Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this movie on netflix because I was in the mood for some comedy and the plot seemed to fit my mood so I gave it a shot. I remember hearing terrible things about this film but I put all criticism aside for the sake of laughter (hopefully) and a little bit of action. Basically, from what I can gather of this film, it could've become a trilogy because that's what hollywood does now. With a decent cast featuring Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Catherine O'hara, and Tom Selleck. Amongst others who were making their way up in hollywood but can only be described as cameos in this film such as Rob Riggle, Alex Borstein, Kevin Sussman and surprisingly enough...Usher? Looking at this cast you'd think the film would do pretty well but I'd blame it on the miscasting of the lead role (Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher) and the shoddy writing. I mean, lets face it, movies like these have succeeded immensely in the past. Take True Lies (1994) for example. Fairly similar plot, pretty unrealistic action sequences but great cast and excellent writing. I dont believe Kutcher 11 years ago was able to pull off the character needed for this film 11 years ago but could do it today and Heigl is just atrocious now, then and forever. Not to mention the miscasting of the "killers". Am I really supposed to believe that these people are assassins? Middle aged, out of shape and embedded so deep within the main characters lives from the start just to eventually go after Kutcher for a bounty? I mean, we're talking about almost everyone in the film is a contract killer. Do you have any idea what something like that would cost, let alone the time and effort put into all this planning for one person who really didnt even seem like he was that good at his job? Bottom line, I'd say youre better off passing on this one. Youre better off finding True Lies (1994) and streaming that.

One of the exceptions where the sequel surpassed the original
13 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
T2: Judgement Day is not only a piece of cinematic history, but the special effects and cinematography were groundbreaking and ahead of it's time. The movie is now 30 years old and there aren't many cases of 30 year old films that the special effects are up to today's standards. This movie was the very first movie that my father took me to go see. In 1991 I was only 4 years old and I could understand how amazing this film was at that age because I made my dad take me to see it two more times. Now I'm not sure if I was lucky or if it was bad parenting but aside from the fact that my father was taking me to my very first venture to the movies, and we went to go see a violent rated R film, but it is my very first memory of sitting in a theater being absolutely mesmerized by James Cameron's classic blue tint cinematography and the T-1000's liquid metal alloy body, but I digress. Now, to the title of my reviews point. Terminator (1984) is a classic in it's own right, but T2 has everything you want from a blockbuster film plus much much more. Cameron's choice to swap the Terminators character and make him a babyface as opposed to the murderous heel he was in the original is genius. After watching Terminator (1984), you wouldn't believe it's possible to take the antagonists (Scwartzenegger) character and completely switch the script and make him the main protagonist of the sequel, but that's exactly what is done, and it's done masterfully! Cameron adds this element of dry humor to the Terminator this time around and it bounces off of John Connor (Furlong) perfectly. By the end of the film, Connor looks at the Terminator as a father figure...a father figure! This ruthless, cold blooded, robotic murderer from the future in the original is portrayed as the protagonist so well in T2 that not only do you not want him to terminate himself in the end, but you genuinely care about him. I recently watched T2 by sheer luck because I saw it was available on the showtime app and for me, T2 is one of those films that I can watch whenever I see it on cable. I hadn't seen it in a while - probably a few years so I was excited to rewatch it. It's amazing how much of the lines I remembered straight through the film, but when you're watching a cinematic marvel such as this, how could you forget all the memorable lines throughout the film? From start to finish I was completely immursed. This is more of an opinion of the film as opposed to a review but THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE! Regardless if after reading this I may seem bias, it has an 8.5 rating on this app and the movies lines are still used today. I'm sure you have heard "hasta la vista, baby!" "I'll be back" or "come with me if you want to live" at some point recently and those lines will live forever, just like this movie. It's easily the best of the entire franchise and was able to blow away audiences 30 years ago and trust me, if you've read this review and are now about to go watch Terminator 2: Judgement Day...Prepared to be blown away as well!

What Episodes 7-9 Failed to Accomplish
19 December 2020
Just finished Season 2 and my god this show is phenomenal. The story telling and character development is excellent. Going forward, Disney should consider letting Favrou write anything else Star Wars related. If you're a Star Wars fan, this is exactly what u want out of the SWU.

Great show minus Sonoya Mizuno
3 April 2020
First, let me start off by saying the story itself is fresh, creative and interesting. Definitely worth giving a shot if you're into the psychological thriller genre. For the most part, casting is on point. Nick Offerman as Forest, the enigmatic CEO of Amaya and Zach Grenier as Kenton, the Ex-CIA officer turned to head of Amaya security are both phenomenal in their roles. Offerman plays the role of his career, while Greniers character is this shows Mike Ehrmantraut. On the opposite end, the main protagonist and heroine, Lily, played by Sonoya Mizuno, is a gigantic casting error. She is by far the only quarrel that I have with the show itself and it's to the point where it becomes annoying because she lacks the qualities that a protagonist should have. Shes extremely monotone and has the same facial expressions regardless of her emotions. All in all, worth a watch. Recommended if you can bare with Mizunos acting.

Castle Rock: Dirty (2019)
Season 2, Episode 8

Coming together nicely
27 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The story for this season is coming together beautifully as of this episode. A lot of action and some big break throughs during "Dirty". Ace comes to the realization that Joy is the vessel for Amity as opposed to Annie. It looks like Annie is overcoming her inner demons when she hears and sees her dead mother frequently throughout this episode and when she is becoming influenced to kill Joy, she overcomes it. Chris comes to kill Nadia but she knocks him out, takes him to the hospital where we learn that the drug Haldol can beat whatever had taken over the bodies in Castle Rock. All in all, very good episode. One of the better this season. Although, very short. Only 36 minutes. That's why I didnt give it a 10.

Tied as the greatest Christmas movie EVER
26 November 2019
Growing up in my family there were 2 movies that were a necessity during the holidays: A Christmas Story (1983) and this. This is not only everything you want out of a comedy but it has the perfect formula as a christmas classic. To this day, my family still recites lines from this movie more than any other.

One bad choice after another for Armie
26 November 2019
Considering the cast and the trailer, I gave this a shot before reading the score and reviews on here and boy was that a mistake. An hour and a half of my life I'll never be able to get back. Dont make the same mistake I did, skip this one.

Great story, not so great ending.
21 November 2019
I watched Bloodline based on the reviews I read here. I put a lot of stock in and so far it hasn't let me down. Seasons 1 & 2 is great crime drama TV. Its suspenseful, fascinating and relatable. Season 3 however showed promise until about the last 2 episodes and then I was disappointed. Although, the acting is fantastic. Perfectly casted. All in all, it's worth the watch.

First time I watched it, I hated it. Gave it another shot, love it.

It's a mix between Weeds and Dexter and I'm totally a fan. Timothy Olyphant is hysterical and him and Barrymore make an incredible team. If you tried it and didn't like it, I suggest you give it another shot.

If you like movies about Angels and Demons, you'll like this.
3 September 2016
I was very skeptical going into this movie. I had heard many bad things about it and Kim Basinger so I never gave it a chance. Since it was on TV last night I decided to give it a shot and it surprised me!

The plot is very similar. A string out mother leaves her infant daughter with her sister after giving birth to an unwanted child. 6 years later it turns out that the child has mystical powers similar to Christ himself and a satanic cult wants her.

Me, personally, I enjoy movies like this. I'm a big fan of the prophecy and end of days and this movie is quite similar.

So IMO, if you enjoyed those two and are an all around horror fan, you'll enjoy this.
