The Last of Us: Please Hold to My Hand (2023)

WHY WHY WHY
4 February 2024
I'll never understand why movies/stories involving travelers during apocalyptic times route themselves through major cities. No issues were presented between Boston and Kansas City because the characters kept themselves to the boonies, rural areas. I suppose a little excitement was needed lol ... same situation in 'Finch'.

At the beginning of the episode while gassing up, there is a parked, clean, white newer model full sized pickup truck in the background for numerous shots. Clearly a boo boo.

The newspapers attached to the windows would be yellow and crumbling. That's how well newsprint holds up when exposed to sunlight. The newspapers in the scene are in great condition, maybe read the day before the scene was shot.

Profiles the delusional people among us
22 February 2023
If you ever wondered who the individuals who somehow escaped insane asylums are, this six hour series presents them front and center giving each a forum to blabber about how smart they are (they are not), how successful they are (they are not) and exactly WHY they somehow know more than rigorous science does. At times laughable, these complete morons are exhibit A for the downfall of society.

A person profiled in part one is currently serving a four year prison term for rioting January 6, 2021 in her attempt to stop democracy. A person profiled in part two sells diluted bleach to line his pockets. A person profiled in part three thinks adults suck the blood of children because the adult is politically liberal. Need I go on?

Stupidity on steroids. Unbelievable how dumb a segment of society truly is. Shawdowland exposes this stupidity.

Typical Lifetime Channel fare

Warning: Spoilers
Except this glop was on Showtime! The film does a very good job of demonstrating how women are demeaned in the work force and how an abusive partner distinguishes self worth. Unfortunately, the story line offers little else.

The entertainment value is shallow. The movie plods along using flashbacks intertwined with real time as it s.l.o.w.l.y works its way to nowhere. The psychological aspect involving the victim and psychologist is laughable. The psychologist character is at odds with everyone else in the film; doubtful behavior in real life.

Low budget sets, felt like the senior project of a film major. If you do watch, perhaps multitask to make your time worthwhile.

Unsure how many reviewers actually watched this
25 August 2022
A well done presentation through interviews and news reports. Presents the information, doesn't make a conclusion. Those who suggest otherwise have not actually watched all four episodes; all four hours.

Inaccurate episode

Warning: Spoilers
The Lakers did not play a game on Christmas Day, 1979. They beat the Celtics in Boston 100-98 on January 15, 1980. After this win, the Lakers had a record of 30-15. The suggestion Westhead didn't know what he was doing is a fabrication.

What's next? A Lakers~Celtics final--the Lakers beat the 76ers in six games in the 1980 NBA finals. Please stick with facts involving scores, dates, etc..

A poor script handicapped a good idea. Too many unbelievable plot lines didn't help. I watched to the bitter end playing with my phone more than actually watching because it was so boring.

The Magnificent Two
28 January 2022
Episode similar to the original Magnificent Seven movie except there are only two good guy gunfighters. Episode also features several actors who appeared in the movie. Highly watchable!

7:10 to Wichita
10 December 2021
This episode was original--not a radio episode. Inasmuch as it was filmed a full year before the 1957 film 3:10 to Yuma, I'll suggest the film took the premise from this Gunsmoke episode. Suspenseful 25 minutes!

A MESS
23 October 2021
Absolutely one of the WORSE 'blockbuster' type movies I have ever seen. Thankfully, I sat through it in the comfort of my home where slices of pizza could be fetched, texts could be read, news could be scrolled without bothering others. My daughter and I chatted through most of it, checking if I was as confused as her--we both have college degrees; myself a PhD. ABSOLUTELY the result of a poor script. Terrific acting; incredible CGI; an awful screenplay. Had no idea it was part one of a two part film. Learning that at the end of the film summed up my 155 minute experience: what a waste of time.

Mediocre at best
14 October 2021
Boring ... a real snooze.

An episode written by television writers. Episodes first aired on radio are brilliant. The rest aren't very good. Unsure why Gunsmoke's television writers cannot match what the radio writers crafted.

Must see for those nearing retirement

EVERY aspect of this movie is plausible. So called financial planners have been ripping people off for decades. Unfortunately, older affluent people have just another shark to be aware of and avoid. An education.

I liked it
26 August 2021
I'm quite harsh on movies. 15 minutes and it's either deleted or finished. Most of those I finish are rated in the 4 to 6 range. I liked 'The Virtuoso'. It's interesting. Reminded me of 'Bad Times at the El Royale' in the manner in which it unfolded. The movie is no masterpiece, but certainly watchable, enjoyable!

Follows the radio script almost word for word
15 August 2021
Most half hour television Gunsmoke episodes follow the script of the radio show. Inasmuch as the radio show began three years earlier and ran almost every week, there were around 140 scripts that had already been performed on radio to choose from. Tap Day for Kitty is one of them.

First original Gunsmoke screenplay
1 July 2021
Most 30 minute episodes of Gunsmoke were first presented in oral form on the Gunsmoke radio show--which started three years earlier. As a result, these episodes were tighter, more developed because the story had been previously performed. One reason this episode is less than stellar is it was the very first original story presented on television. Another is because it was written to coincidence with Halloween.

Great beginning; faded fast
27 June 2021
I truly enjoyed the first 30 minutes! Unfortunately, the movie slowed, plodding along like a lame mule. If not for the need to read subtitles, I would have listened while reading Bolivar's Wiki page.

Excellent portrayal of the dumbing down of America
26 May 2021
The film documents the ignorance and stupidity rampant in today's American society. It's a coincidence those profiled are politically conservative; or is it? Do the math!

Complete nonsense
25 April 2021
It's unfortunate this film was made because the only people who truly believe the information presented have already gone down the rabbit hole of 'The BIG Lie' and/or 'Q'. Some of these same people tried to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021 and will spend the next 10 to 20 years in prison. An epilogue should be added after Mike loses his various libel suits and spends the rest of his life paying his judgements.
