Lou (2022)
Had the potential...but got too complicated
What could have been a very simple and effective premise, "grizzled country woman helps tenant find her kidnapped child" ended up with just way too many over complications.
She's the grandmother / mother!
She's a CIA target!
She moved to the island because of an elaborative plan.
The movie could have been a 8 if it had just kept it simple and focused on cool wilderness scenes
That being said, it was a well shot and paced movie. I think it could have done more with the surrounding beautiful setting. More clever in cinematography etc. But overall I'd recommend watching it.
(Did I get to the character minimum yet?)
Preservation (2014)
A grown man...
Beats a teenager with the butt of a gun, over and over. And somehow that teenager is immediately okay? And the strong enough to stab him?
This plot hole ruined it for me right off the bat. Without it maybe I would have liked the back half of the movie.
Trauma Center (2019)
Not Terribe but...
How dumb are the vice cops / bad guys. At every turn they miss this woman, make the wrong decision.
Movie would have been better and more believable if they aren't such idiots.
The main actress is quite good. Lala from Vanderpump is in it, so that's funny. And Bruce Willis gives like a C+ effort performance.
All in all, it being short, consumable, I'll give it a 5. Could have been higher with better bad guys.
American Poltergeist (2015)
Hahaha...hehehe...sigh.
Mike Rutkowski should stick to being a production assistant.
I like bad horror movies. This movie is beyond bad, it's honestly the worst thing I've ever seen.
It feels like it written by a grade 7 student, acted by grade 8s and filmed and directed by a grade 9 student.
The Frozen (2012)
Like a bad first date...
There are so many plot holes in this movie it's hard to count. But what makes this movie completely and utterly unbearable is the complete lack of chemistry between the two main characters. Are they on a first date? A camping first date in the snowy wilderness? Because it feels as though they met each other that day. They don't talk to each other like a real couple would actually talk to each other.
But back to the plot holes, She has no hesitations going out with him (who she's knows has no experience camping) into the wilderness? They don't tell anyone, despite having no experience? They don't have GPS? Where is she getting the never ending supply of water? I feel bad for the main actors. Despite their complete lack of chemistry, the script is downright awful. Surprisingly, the production value is actually pretty decent.
