Hyena Road (2015)
A decent war movie
Note: I have seen this movie for "Xbox's Free Movie Weekend" that took place on the weekend of the August 5th. So I did not pay for this movie nor I did not pay to see this movie.
The movie is "R" of course; there is gore, chopped off heads, body parts flying off, etc. It's your typical Army movie gore that makes you say, "Dammmmnnn." Hyena Road doesn't really have that many intense moments like with most Army related movies nowadays, you get a few, one or two major fights and that's about it. The acting is average, the plot was decent, the twist (can be expected) and the dialogue between characters could have been better. In some parts of the movie it was/it can be predictable, but I just wished it ended differently (but you can't change "inspired by true events" history).
On the Xbox app (where I watched it), there aren't any subtitles for when the people are talking. This more or less takes you out of the movie moment and confuses you at times when these characters talk. Maybe there are subtitles on different movie outlets, but I didn't see any on the Xbox app.
Hyena Road is nothing horrible, but it's an average war movie that you "don't need to see," but if you do see it don't expect too much.
Warcraft (2016)
The best Video Game movie out there.
Let's get straight to the point. If you know nothing about the Warcraft game, this movie isn't for you and you should have never reviewed it because you will get lost.
I myself never played the Warcraft game, but my brother does and he caught be up to speed with the game and movie. Movie doesn't really expand in the beginning. There could have been more 'fluff' added to the storyline (me personally a longer movie is better) just so that you can get a feel of what's happening. Instead they just throw you into the world. But overall, the graphics, the amount of detail, the fighting and also the animations boost this score up from a 4/5 stars to a 5/5 stars. Well, Travis Fimmel boosted the score up as well because he is a great actor in the TV show Vikings as well... so it's a win win situation when watching the movie.
This is one the best video game released movies (way better than Pixels) in a movie theater. Don't let these critics tell you other wise.
Spectre (2015)
A very boring James Bond movie
To be completely honest and straight forward. I'm not a Daniel Craig type of guy, I'm more of a Pierce Brosnan. Either way here is my honest review of Spectre.
The movie was kinda a let down. They should have upped the film rating from PG-13 to R to get more action/gory scenes in the movie that is usually limited by the PG-13 rating. I thought it had cliché moments, situations, and endings in the movie that you can probably guess what is going to happen next, even if you haven't watched the movie. In general, the movie did not feel like a James Bond film it felt more like a movie that separated itself from the series.
In sum, the movie needed more action. It did not have enough of gadgetry like how a James Bond film should have and more focused on adding 'fluff' to the storyline.
