White Wall (2020)
Couldn't stop watching !
I love shows like this ! Intensity, mystery and great writing. I watched this in two days, every episode made me want to see more. And now the final cliffhanger... I really hope this gets a second season!
I liked how the cast was from different origin; Finland, Sweden, Norway and even UK. As a Finn myself, I enjoyed the occasional Finnish parts like when Atte was first interrogating Astrid. That came as a total surprise! Really enjoyed Eero Milonoff as a whole, he is a great actor and really captivates the nature of his character. All the actors did an amazing job!
The visuals were amazing and big part of it goes to the VFX team. The CGI was seamless! Beautiful scenes and great use of lighting to set the mood. The music also provided for the intensity and made some moments truly thrilling to watch.
Also, I recognized some of the filming locations as the show was mostly filmed in Iisalmi ja Pyhäjärvi in Finland. So cool to see an actual high-budget show on our TV! (actually the most expensive television show ever made around here with a 7 million euro budget !) I read that they also used locals from Pyhäjärvi as extras in some of the scenes, fun stuff. Would really recommend this to anyone who likes these kind of shows!
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Ballad of Dwight and Irena (2020)
Episode good, mask bad
The episode felt pretty solid with some old-school SVU. But again, the way they managed the masks... Horrifying. People really just couldn't keep the damn things on. The worst was when Olivia was at the hospital talking to the mom without a mask. A. HOSPITAL. I wan't to scream every time someone takes their mask off for no reason.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Guardians and Gladiators (2020)
The masks
I couldn't stop cringing every time someone pulled off their mask for no reason or had it under their chin when others didn't have one on. Really annoying to watch them ripping a mask off like Rollins did when she was talking to the mother. Defiets the purpose of a mask and sends a bad example for anyone watching.
Really a bad way of handling the cirus situation by everyone neglecting the safety rules. I get it that it's hard to have the actors act with the masks on but damn, they could've just left the virus out the series if they handle it like this.
Big points to Peter Scanavino yet again for best acting. He's really one of my favorite actors currently.
Supernatural: Inherit the Earth (2020)
I mean.... Sure.
This episode was all over the place. It feels like they just missed a full 20 minutes before the showdown with Chuck and then... Just walked off ?? And what about Cas and Eileen ?
I hope they do something absolutely epic in the last episode, because this was really disappointing. It felt rushed and just lacked the usual quality, even the dialogue seemed a bit off. Damn... What a shame if this is how it ends.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A rushed mess.
I saw the movie today, and I have to say, I struggled through most of it. It was a complete mess from start to finish with terrible writing, plot twists, too much dialogue and jumping from place a to place b. Just too much crammed up into one movie.
Here are a few things I found "a bit" ridiculous:
1.) Rose and Finn's kiss in the last episode (which was cringy and unnecessary, btw) was completely ignored and they shared close to no words throughout the movie.
2.) Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter.
3.) Poe gets a weirdly out-of-character back story and a love interest? Like, why? He didn't need any of that.
4.) __Hux was a spy for the rebellion__ and got killed immediately. So much great character potential WASTED with this stupid plot twist that made zero sense.
5.) The force works in about 78 new ways apparently.
6.) Kylo and Rey's relationship turns out to be romantic. It resembled more of a sibling kind of a thing in the previous episodes. AND THEIR KISS. I can't even describe how I felt when I saw it, shaking my head in the movie theater.
7.) The "death star cannons" were ridiculous and how they managed to lose with a massive fleet of destroyers was just stupid.
8.) Palpatine died off easy, didn't he? Meanwhile, Rey and Kylo just run around healing people with the force.
9.) Rey turning into a complete child and going off on solo missions 80% of the time, not caring about the others.
10.) Rey taking the Skywalker name just felt like a stab to the neck. Totally ruined the last remnants of respect for that character.
The only good thing that's come out of this movie is the fact that the saga is finally over and the suffering can end.
