From the minds behind the better than average Lost Bullet series...
30 April 2023
Comes the waaay better than average AKA.

I enjoyed lost bullet one and two but they didn't hold my attention like this film. This movie has twists, turns, competent action scenes and surprisingly emotional depth.

This movie had all the makings of your standard thriller but I was continually impressed with the writing of the characters. Even the stoic lead has impressive depth.

The action is well done and some of the set pieces are impressive. Don't quite expect John wick or Raid level choreography but genre enthusiasts will be satisfied. The 2 hour runtime absolutely flew by.

Eight out of ten.

A must see if youre into this sort of thing.
8 December 2022
Warriors of Future plays like a 90 minute cutscene from a video game. Think Halo meets Elysium.

If you are into CGI heavy nonsense this will do it for you. The action scenes are clever and electrifying even if they are nauseating at times. The writing is utter garbage and only a few characters are worth your time. There are a few cheeky nods to actually great sci fi cinema. The film doesn't really even try to be good. It just wants to make the 12 year old boy in you smile at how awesome and stupid it is.

The one chase scene through downtown is especially fun and creative.

Overall its the kind of nonsense many will enjoy.

I hate that I watched the whole thing
21 July 2022
The writers clearly planned on setting up for a season two but we dont get an explanation for any of the motivations behind any of the stupid things the characters do. Lance Reddick is the only enjoyable thing about the whole show.

Maybe the funniest Burr stand up yet.
14 July 2022
I have always been a fan of the way Bill straddles both sides of the issues. Poking fun at the lunatics of the world. I have laughed at maybe 3 stand up sets ever as hard as I did here.

Fun little body horror/action detour
14 June 2022
I was afraid we were going to get another show centered on the doctor and her strange relationships. Fortunately this quickly moved into body horror and some surprisingly decent action scenes. Mind you, I hope the show gets back to the humor that hooked me on the show.

One of the strangest, most haunting and beautiful things I have ever seen. I won't be able to get this out of my head for a while. My jaw was open the whole time.

As good as could be expected without the chief
6 May 2022
Don't let the obscenely low rating of this episode fool you. Its a decent episode of television. Of course I want every moment on screen to involve the chief, like the rest of you. However this was a fairly entertaining episode.

No sure which movie everyone was reviewing
10 February 2022
After the dull sequel and mid to low ratings of this prequel I was ready to write it off. But after finally seeing it I was blown away. A much more grounded, story driven first act gives way to some of the best action set pieces Ive ever seen.

Amusing, occasionally hilarious whodunnit comedy.

Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Ben Schwartz and Sam Richardson. I may be a little biased but anything these guys do has me on board. Its not for everyone, but Ben and Sam are seemingly allowed free reign with their ad libbed, improv style comedy. If this type of thing is at all your cup of tea you might enjoy it. Also Ike barenholtz is always a treat.

Some of the best modern horror I've seen

Its best not to know anything going into this series. Must watch for horror fans. Not since hill house has a season of television haunted me so. I want more of this.

Not sure what movie everyone else saw
10 December 2021
I am a little late to the party. I would directly compare this film to Man of Steel. The action, direction and tone were similar. Much like Man of Steel audiences have been divided and I fall into the category that loved both films. Dont listen to reviews and see this for yourself, on the big screen if possible.

Metal AF
2 July 2021
This film is riddled with cliches and suffers in the writing department but ill been damned if it wasn't a hell of a ride. The actors all rise above the script and the creature design and cgi is much better than expected. We don't get a lot of quality when it comes to straight to streaming action/sci fi content but this movie is surely an exception.

I was on the edge of my seat. Must watch for action fans.

I dont get the hate(or the love for that matter)
25 May 2021
I am a Zack Snyder fan. There I said it. But this is far from his best work.

Pros: The last 40 minutes are balls to the wall vintage Zack Snyder. Really impressed with the action and emotional impact near the end.

Conceptually its very cool and of course the visuals are fantastic.

Dave Bautista truly is a star and a quality actor.

I really dig the creativity in the cinematography.

Zombie friggin Tiger

Cons: The writing, while not as cringy to me as most reviewers are saying, leaves a lot to be desired.

Its simply too long. 20 minutes shorter and it could have been great.

Much like Suckerpunch(Snyders only other original IP film) this movie is very cool in concept but desperately needs better writers. Zack, I love you, I love your stories and your visual flair but you gotta team up with better writers.

I Couldn't hate this movie
19 February 2021
I was pleasantly surprised by this film. If only because I didn't think Paul WS Anderson was capable of making something watchable. Dont get me wrong its mindless trash for the most part but with plenty of CGI spectacle and an Enemy Mine-esque subplot I couldn't bring myself to giving a negative rating.

Can't help but be impressed by the visuals
9 February 2021
The story and acting are lacking a little bit but given the fact that its budget was only 21 mil I couldn't give a negative review. The CGI and action scenes are more impressive than some 100 million dollar Hollywood projects. Its good mindless fun with plenty of heart.

I'm sick of hearing fanboys rave about this show
8 February 2021
I simply don't get the hype. I have enjoyed nearly every piece of Marvel content to date but I am confused by the popularity of this show. I have never heard anyone say they wanted a rehash of early sitcoms(complete with lame, outdated humour). Now to be fair its kind of unique and its getting better with each episode, but there is so little progress each week. The final episodes are going to have to be pretty spectacular to save it.

Brilliant

I love science fiction more than anything and this show has always delivered. Yet the way this episode gave us an edge of your seat emotional trip into each characters past was truly outstanding. Somehow in season 5 we grow to love the characters even more.

Get me a version of this where the dialogue is audible and it would probably be a nine out of ten.

If you have watched his show and are upset that all he does is shout then I'm not sure what you are doing here. Yes it's hard to watch, he is known for cringe comedy.

Crimanlly underrated
26 April 2020
If you are looking for action that would make Gareth Evans and Chad Stahelski blush then I highly recommend this film. One of the most memorable action sequences of the last few years and a surprisingly well rounded group of supporting characters highlight what I think is the best Netflix action movie to date. Well acted, well directed and exciting from start to finish. The gun violence becomes excessive in the final act but the hand to hand and Gun fu combat scenes never fail.

I'm not going to dive deep into this, I will say that if you enjoy Bay films you should enjoy this one. To sum it up it is violently entertaining if poorly, poorly edited.

Perfect ending
28 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Russo brothers have handled their films impeccably and seemingly had an impossible task on their hands. That is do justice to every single superhero in the shared universe. I gave this film 9 stars even though the first two acts seemed uneven and predictable. As Thanos said, it was "inevitable" that they should all face off again. Because of this it was hard to get terribly invested when you know they may lose some key members along the way but in the end they will succeed in getting another shot and Thanos and his army. To be fair this could be said about most every superhero movie ever.

This brings me to the final act and it is perfect. One of the absolute best, if not the best, battle scene of all time. CGI and character balance was flawless. Cap and Ironman leave their roles with the integrity they entered them with. I cant say enough good things about how everything was wrapped up.
