India Lockdown (2022)
Untold remains untold
It could never justify the horror and gore of lockdown in different sectors of the society...Very shallow script, hasty at times.... The movie didn't ever try to fathom the depth of the impacts on human lives.... Except the Pratiek Babbar story none other looked even close to reality.....A worldwide crisis like COVID-19 can't be served in such sugarcoated manner.... On one hand the story tried to cover such a varied socio-economical backdrop but in the other hand it never got into the details of any of the constituting layers.... Brilliant casts like Shweta Basu Prasad has completely been wasted and lost in the jungle of poor script and even worse slapsticks for comic relief...Madhur Bhandarkar always had this knack of showing the harsh truth by an honest portrayal of the happenings in detail...that gem of his possession is completely missing in this movie.
Ghoomketu (2020)
An empty can, meant to be thrown into trash
Nothing extraordinary or even ordinary in d movie but the character played by Ila Arun. Character played by Anurag Kashyap could have easily been the second most important cast but portrayed way too meekly. Radarless script and poor storytelling. Absolute waste of Rajveer Yadav and Nawaz. Tried too many things but failed almost in all dept
Maadathy (2019)
Shocked by the story Satisfied with the making
I watched this movie at the KIFF-19 ( Kolkata international film festival-2019)
Expecting to watch cross-border films I was a bit skeptic if to enter the screen to watch an Indian movie or wait outside. But when I left d theater that uncanny unusual background score was still beating in my ears..the story was still haunting me..not only because of the struggle n pain that it showed but for the moment when the girl was watching his crush doing heinous crime...the anger n rage in the eyes of the victims left me horrified...underwater camera work, dark humor here and there, the background score, the specticles, the crudity, the intrinsic rawness of the characters, unaltered social division, the direction n screenplay everything mesmerized me. I left the theater with a guilt that i almost thought of waiting outside till the next foreign movie starts..LOL... great experience
