Se7en (1995)

Woah, that hit me hard, OUTSTANDING
12 April 2007
I just watched Se7en, which stars Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey and I was gob smacked at how well crafted the storyline and ending are. Somerset (Freeman) and Mills (Pitt) are searching for a man only known as 'John Doe,' he is killing and preaching at the same time by killing people based on the Seven Deadly sins, Sloth, Gluttony, Envy, Greed, Lust, Wrath and Pride as his motive. Somerset takes this case as his last one before he calls it the quits and Mills is a new detective, who doesn't usually listen to the much more experienced Somerset. The story unfolds with the detectives trying to track this killer after he is toying with the police leaving no fingerprints and hardly any clues of any kind. I won't tell anymore but there's not many dull moments and the ending is like no other I've ever seen. From the director of Fight Club another great storyline and twist at the end, even though Fight Club is exceedingly more violent than Se7en, they are both made the same way and both have such great acting and story lines, that this movie cannot be passed over. Very Highly recommended and I would give it 9/10.

Great Zombie LIKE movie, Not to gory
18 October 2006
I know that 8 out of 10 is not the correct rating for this movie but is just how much I liked this movie. It's not exactly a movie to enjoy but it did have moments where had more relaxing times like driving on roads next to beautiful fields of flowers and lush green fields with music that really suited the movie. The sections that did have violence/gore was not over stimulated like when the infected did not have to rip peoples bodies apart like in Dawn of the Dead etc. The actors except for Cillian were basically unknown but still didn't do a bad job in their parts. I won't reveal anymore but the Infected aren't their only problem and this extra problem made it more edge of the seat. Overall a good movie and its definitely worth seeing for an entertaining evening. Even though there isn't as much violence as most zombie movies, i still don't think it'd be good for kids that aren't teens yet.

Graphic but still good Aussie western.
3 May 2006
This movie is set nearing the end of the Bushranger era. Charlie Burns (Guy Pearce) is sent out by Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone) to kill his brother Arthur Burns who is a notorious gang member who is responsible for rape and murder in order to keep his other brother Mike Burns alive. So Charlie Burns sets out after his brother who is unknowing of his predicament. Without telling anymore of the story this Aussie film has been greatly filmed and has great filming locations. The storyline of the movie itself does everything. The thing that brought the movie down is the racism to aboriginals and violence against them. The violence itself in the movie is well plenty there is probably to much graphic violence but overall a great movie.

Great Aussie movie
29 April 2006
This movie is a real eye-opener. It gives a good 1st person perspective of what it would have been like to struggle with disease, not much food, hard ground to move forward on and a strong enemy. (outnumber Aussies 10-1) Throughout the film there are great camera angles and cinematography. Even though most of the actors are basically unknown, they do a superb job of acting. Some scenes are quite graphic, so people who are not used to seeing blood spurting, probably shouldn't see this. In Australia this movie in M15+, but for Americans who are wondering what rating it will be, R is probably a good estimate. All in All a good movie, 7.3 out of ten.
