The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Season 1, Episode 3

Homophobes out in force
3 February 2023
This espiode, when it comes to the games was, for lack of a better word, special.

We all knew (the nerds anyway) Bill and Frank were partners, but for those that haven't played the game and are new to this? Grow up!

Men can love men and women can love women.

The fact that this episode is portrayed in a beautiful and pandemic, armageddon way, should hit even closer to home than expected.

Ellie and Joel weren't a massive feature, but a huge missing part of the gaming story line was.

I'm sorry if you're not a gamer, however I'm not sorry if you are aborant of the way the world works right now.

This epsiode was beautiful and has merely added a brilliant dimension to the game.

Die Hard 2, but more fun
8 January 2023
It's pretty much Die Hard 2 but with more comedy.

It was super cheesy at times, but this Christmas film had a lot more than your usual feel good vibes.

Gore, comedy, love, and betrayal, it had it all. I wouldn't say it was Oscar winning by any means, but it certainly did pass some time without me thinking, "hmmm shall I go to bed?" Don't watch it with kids, because there is a fair bit of violence in it, hence the title.

The lead was played very well, and if you like Hopper in Stranger Things? Then you'll love Santa in this, he's jolly but also deadly and he certainly doesn't do anything by halves when it comes to dishing out some best downs.

Not really a murder mystery
2 January 2023
There wasn't much guessing needed in this film, the killer stood out like a sore thumb.

Instead of piecing together the puzzle yourself and getting involved with the film, it was back and forth in time, catching up with other conversations that meant nothing to the plot. All the important parts that you required to connect, were hidden from you, making this film a hash up of nothing really.

It was 2 hrs of pointlessness for me. Daniel Craig and the accent he uses, I will admit was pretty good and he did carry the feature immensely.

If you joined the film halfway through, you would have already been up to speed with what was going on in the first 5 minutes of viewing.

The first film had a decent cast but for me didn't deliver its potential, the sequel was much the same.

Needs better personnel
1 January 2023
Again, I loved the series and episodes before this film but they need better personnel when it comes to improv.

I found myself getting frustrated with the windows of opportunity to be absolutely mental and show your worth as a comedic actor.

Getting assistance from the lead actor does help to a certain extent, however, you've had multiple lessons and training in your craft, work it!!!!!

I was going over with the wife, what actions I would have taken, and how absurd my actions would have been.

Seriously get Jim Carrey on this show and you'll have endless entertainment.

Some of it was funny yes, but I found myself mainly laughing at the actors trying to keep themselves together, this is all well and good when the performance is excellent, but come on, stay in character and work that camera!

Seemed pointless to me
11 November 2022
Bunch of lies and rubbish, that turns out it's actually others lying and chatting more rubbish, but then, someone else says something and it turns out, they're the ones lying and saying rubbish.

Seemed like a complete waste of time, for very, very little closure.

Nothing much happens, the comedy has gone on holiday.

Lenny Rush though, he was decent in it.

Watch it during the week, when you have a little time before bed, don't waste your time on the weekend when you're hoping to sit down and enjoy some good TV, because this isn't it.

The acting isn't the greatest and the storyline is even weaker and is confusing until you see other perspectives, then it just become dopey.

Really enjoyed it.
15 October 2022
I was expecting this film to surround Brad Pitt relentlessly and for it to be 2 hours of him, boy was I wrong.

So many characters in this film with their own agendas and screen time, is what makes this film really fun without getting bored.

Even the slow parts are filled with slick acting and quick word play, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stole this part of it and did it brilliantly.

Everything worked its way up to an unpredictable, yet, partially unbelievable at points climax, but I didn't care.

The film has comedy, mucho violence and was just a joy from start to finish.

It reminded me slightly of Kill Bill, but, who doesn't love Kill Bill?

Definitely give it a watch.

Turn your brain off
14 October 2022
Exactly the title, turn your brain off and you'll love the coming together of all the old and new cast and crew.

It is what it is with these films, dinosaurs eating people and people trying to survive.

If you love CGI and you aren't much of a thinker, go nuts with this, however, if on the other hand you want your brain stimulated, stay away from this film.

Had it on in the background whilst working and didn't miss a single thing, that's how brainless this film is.

Hopefully they're done with it now, because like the Fast and the Furious films, they've squeezed about as much as they can out of it.

Called it
27 August 2022
As soon as the promotion for this film popped up on my phone, the day before its Netflix release I knew, it was going to be terrible.

No promotion at all.

You can tell from the first 5 minutes of CGI that this film was seriously low budget and rushed.

I know what you're thinking, "well CGI isn't the only thing that matters, the story could be great!" Trust me, it isn't.

So many problems with the plot line, and how they go about their business.

I'm a huge fan of Wahlberg, but I think he needs to stay far away from Kevin Hart, because films like this will diminish his career.

The script was shocking and super cheesy, it was a slap stick, cheesy, fill the gaps of the decent films, rush job.

Avoid at all costs, especially if you like Wahlberg.

Decent to be fair
14 August 2022
Wasn't expecting much from this, but I was pleasantly surprised.

You can't beat these thing's with brute force, you have to be smart. This is well depicted in this film, the action starts pretty much from the off and keeps going.

The CGI during the scene with the bear could've been better, but hey, it's a Predator and a Bear going at it, whatever.

The main character was well selected, along with some cheesy fighting lines, but other than that it was OK, wouldn't watch it again though.

Give me Arnie and those mean mothereffers anyday, they made it much more entertaining.

Captivating
9 August 2022
First off, Paul Walter Hauser steals the show in this.

Taron is good, shows parts of his acting that we haven't seen before, Kingsman etc etc.

But Paul, from the high pitched speaking to the facial changes is excellent.

I watched the first epsiode and wanted more, the second epsiode reaffirmed that I need to complete this series as soon as possible.

Binged the lot, granted there aren't many but it was brilliant.

I'll admit, there was a lot of rubbish just to fill the gaps, characters that had absolutely nothing to with the plot, or even made any impact in the show, it was purely a way of showing prison life and how to survive.

The main focus is Taron and Paul, excellent acting and anything that's inspired by a 'true story', always hits different.

Not impressed

Been looking forward to watching this for years.

Finally got round to it and it's not great at all, laughs are forced and the story shocking.

Don't waste your time.

The Gray Man (2022)

Really enjoyed it
22 July 2022
The thing that is so brilliant about this film is the actors being out of their comfort zones.

Captain America becomes a villain, (a good one at that). Pretty boy Ryan Gosling a stone cold hit man, again very good.

Some of the CGI sequences are very difficult to follow, they try to cram too much in to such a small space, but the calmness of Gosling allows you to enjoy it.

The story line is predictable, but look past this and enjoy some chaos and suave acting.

Think, Bourne meets Ethan Hunt, meets Arnie in Commando.

Decent flick.

Mindless fun
17 July 2022
Started watching this film half a bottle of whiskey in, knowing I didn't need to concentrate much.

Think of this film like Central Intelligence, but with Woody Harrelson instead of Dwayne Johnson.

It was Kevin Hart playing his usual stuttering, bumbling role, but it was very funny in parts.

Give it a watch, don't expect much and have fun with it. You won't feel like you've wasted your time, like I said, it is slightly funny.

Slow burner
17 July 2022
The latest series starts off very slowly and eventually picks up.

It was great to see the gang back together, a lot darker than the other series, that can be slightly frightening for a younger audience.

The CGI was excellent and knowing the producers knew exactly what to do to pull at the heart strings.

I would advise watching the other series' again, as there is a lot you will forget.

Not much happened really
17 June 2022
I watched a whole lot of movie, for not much to happen at all.

I was waiting for it to kick off in so many ways. Visually, it's stunning. As far as entertainment value goes, I think the sequel, which I guarantee there will be, is going to be much better.

Don't sit down and expect a thrill ride, if you want to chill and just watch to pass some time, this'll definitely kill a couple of hours, but don't be shocked if you think they've been wasted.

YYYYEEEESSSS!
11 June 2022
I've been waiting years and years for a sequel and this one, didn't disappoint.

Casting alone was very well done, and the filmography was outstanding.

Reading that Tom Cruise organised a schedule for the actors to actually get taken up in the jets, in order to feel first hand, what these people go though, worked an absolute treat.

I was on the edge of my seat during the twists and turns of each canyon and living vicariously through the actors.

Storyline was excellent, purely as it referenced the original Top Gun very frequently, and let's face it, that is a classic!

If you loved the original, this is a very, very worthy sequel.

Short but good
27 May 2022
Ricky once again hasn't disappointed with sticking a middle finger up to the cancel brigade.

The show was quite short, but hilarious in parts. I never used to like Gervais, but his latest material is a breath of fresh air in the current climate.

Terrible film
23 May 2022
I would say, I expected more of Michael Bay.

Gun fights galore, car stunts and carnage, literally that's all that happens in this film.

It tries to hit the emotional feels, what with one of the main stars being portrayed as an ex servicemen, but ultimately the entire film is very unbelievable.

So many events would never happen, I know it's a film and the craziness can outweigh the actual real life accounts, but honestly, this was just stupid.

If you like chaos and stupidity, this is the film for you, if you like films that make sense, please, steer clear of this.

Amy film with a dog co-starring, you know is gonna get you emotional.

Channing was fun and entertaining throughout, the film didn't have any stale moments and kept flowing until the end.

Good weekend movie.

It's quite out there
16 May 2022
It's a bit mad really.

Plenty of CGI and the plot is a bit mental. From aliens to other existence in the galaxy, it is, for lack of a better word, stupid in my opinion.

Many implausible moments, and the physics of some scenes would have Stephen Hawking turning in his grave.

Wasn't good at all, but I stuck it out, and the ending surprisingly was........trash, nah it was trash.

15 May 2022
It's not as crazy as some of the stuff they do, but they are getting older and obviously need to wind down.

No plot, nothing to think about, have some beers and watch the carnage.

A good laugh.

Fun film
9 May 2022
First things first, it's very hard not to imagine Spiderman when Tom Holland sounds surprised or scared, it has you questioning which film you're actually watching.

Sooner or later though, Wahlberg is introduced and the film becomes a lot funnier and more exciting. This film does have the very mental , unbelievable CGI moments. When I say mental, I mean, would never happen in a million years, but, they made this film on the back of a computer game. Nobody wanted a game that wasn't exciting or stupid, otherwise you'd just return it.

Embrace the chaos and madness, and just enjoy Holland and Wahlberg bouncing off each other.

Feel good movie for the weekend.

More childhood memories
7 May 2022
I enjoyed it, anybody that didn't enjoy it, is trying to look to much in to the plot lines, trying to find flaws and so on.

It's near enough a complete animation film, with a bunch of computer generated animals running around with special powers.

Sit back, enjoy and don't take it so seriously, just try and imagine yourself playing the Mega Drive and the graphics have improved drastically.

Ah dammit
13 April 2022
It started quickly, then went very slowly and then picked up, then dropped off, then eventually ended with me smiling.

I loved the first Matrix, had it on VHS, Reloaded was OK, Revelations? Not so much.

This edition has been left, with possibly another in mind.

Don't get me wrong, this wasn't amazing, but it was darn good seeing them back together.

The emotions of the characters I carried around with me for years, this helped me put those emotions at peace.

This won't be everybody's Cup of tea, but I enjoyed it.

Fight scenes and slow motion were abused as hell, some fight scenes were quite terribly directed as well, seemed like a brawl at a football match, but I don't care.
