Toscana (2022)
Italian Scenery. Danish Depression.
This film is an odd duck. The colours are Italian. The scenery is Italian. The feeling is.. definitely not Italian. In a way, it's like Theo... awkwardly trying to process and integrate into a scenery and culture that is not their own and that they struggle to understand.
Yes, the change is way too rushed. The romance feels forced. But this is a man who has lost a father twice. Perhaps its odd tone reflects the inner turmoil Theo has to deal with before he finds his centre.
Case Sensitive (2011)
Lovely Actors, Not So Lovely Characters
The Olivia William's character is so pathetic, it pains me. Yes, please show women as insecure, paranoid or just plain blond and dumb. It got to the point I wanted her to go back to archeology.
The actors are great, but the material is so lame. How can women write these female characters?!
Holiday Miracle (2014)
There are far better out there!
Bad script with the usual formula done in a very lazy way. It misses the mark in all its attempts - there's not enough romance to make it romantic, not enough religion to make it Christian and the "Santa is real" theme has been done a lot better elsewhere. The actors do what they can with the material given, but their efforts are not enough to patch up a predictable storyline that feels off from the start. I can think of a lot of Christmas movies that are preferable to this - "Pete's Christmas," "12 Dates of Christmas" and "Northpole" are part of a long list. There are so many titles to choose from when looking for a feel good Christmas movie - do not waste your time with this one.
