Heartstopper (2022)
Cute
Honestly, I wanted to love this more than I did. I adore the webcomic, but something about this adaptation fell short for me. The actors look exactly like their webcomic counterparts, but the acting(or maybe even the script itself sometimes?) was not convincing most of time. I also think that the pacing was off, it left me feeling like there should have been more (or longer) episodes to fit everything, I felt like things were rushed. I do want to finish this by saying that I'm very happy that young people can see LGBT+ representation in this show, we need that and I still think this show was very cute. Alice Oseman is amazing and i'm very grateful for them having created such amazing and kind characters like Nick and Charlie.
Killing Eve (2018)
Season 1 is a must watch
Killing Eve season one might be my favorite season of a show ever. It's just a magical experience. Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are both sensational in it. Season 2 is also great, season 3 is good, but unfortunately I believe season 4 did not match expectations. It honestly kind of ruined the series for me, it feels like the season 4 show runner did not do justice to the wonderful characters this show had. I'm still leaving my 10/10 rating because earlier seasons still deserve it. I wish I could relive the excitement I felt from watching season 1 for the first time!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)
Underrated
I binged Brooklyn nine nine last month and i loved every second of it, I don't know why i didnt watch it before. It reminds me of The Office, and that's a huge compliment. The writers are doing an amazing job with character development, these people are all so lovable and fun to watch!
Captain Holt is a masterpiece of a character, some of his lines make me cry from laughter (the other characters also have that effect sometimes, but Holt is a true gem)
Finally, the Jake/Amy relationship is the healthiest relationship i've ever seen on TV and i'm so glad for that. Too many shows portray very dramatic and toxic relationships and it's getting old.
Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Best acting I've seen in a while
This movie is a masterpiece. It's visually spectacular and the actors are amazing. Timothée Chalamet is a gem; i don't think i've ever seen an actor be so good at acting tormented, it just felt so real. The soundtrack is also amazing, it makes you even more invested and emotional watching the movie. Absolutely worth a watch!
Friday Night Lights (2006)
Not for me
I did not like Friday Night Lights, and honestly I finished it only because I did not have anything else to watch and I'm really curious so I had to know how it ended. Maybe it's because I'm from Canada and not a small Texas town, but I did not relate to nor cared about any of the characters at all. Seriously, anytime any character did anything, I was like ''nooo that wouldn't happen in real life''... And also, what's up with all the plot lines being dropped all the time?? like so many time something happened and we wouldn't have any explanation or follow up! Just to name a few: 1) Landry killed a guy and his policeman father burned the car with the evidence in it and after a few episode it's like ''oh it was self defense so its okay'' and then its never mentioned again... um what? Cases like this can take months or even years to figure out, what the hell? 2) Lyla ran a car in her father's car dealership and smashed several cars because she was angry and its literally never mentioned after!!! First of all, you have to be crazy and not okay mentally to do something like that, you don't do that when you're a normal ''angry'' teenager... ughh thats so dumb. 3) A lot of characters got jobs out of nowhere without interviews or diplomas or skills, but just because they wanted to? ugh. Anyway, what i'm trying to say is that the show is not realistic, the characters are not relatable and the story lines are often dropped and we have no closure. There are too many characters in this show and some of them just randomly disappear and it's frustrating. Even the finale didn't satisfy me. And finally, I have to mention the fact that the actors they hired to play ''teenagers'' are VERY obviously too old to be teenagers and that's just stupid.
