Hunting Hitler (2015)
Why not ask the obvious?
I could pick this apart bit by bit, but why bother. My posit is this: at no point does anyone say "why did the FBI or any other entity, cover this up?" They lean heavily on the FBI files yet never give any context or back ground to them. The files say nothing in reality except something that may have at one time been reported or rumored by someone. Pick a topic(JFK assassination, Watergate, etc) and there's going to be an FBI file with some off the wall report. Meaningless drivel. The paint strokes are so broad as to saturate this click bait from beginning to end. Speaking of paint, watching some dry would be more entertaining than this and no commercials.
Broad City (2014)
As Good As It Gets
I'm a 65 year old rural Midwestern white male. Clearly not this shows demographic. I was pretty sure I wasn't cool enough to understand it. I've read all the reviews and most of the people commenting are crazy. These women are hysterical (and gorgeous!) and the minor characters are great and well cast. I assume they (Jacobson and Wexler) write most of their own stuff and it works great. The episode where Abbi transforms into Val was brilliant. That story line could have been used over and over. I hope they all have long careers and much success!
Blow the Man Down (2019)
To Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy
Not a review as much as a fan letter. Great story telling! And you didn't dumb it down which is a tribute to your directing. You gave just enough to get across the plot points without slowing the pace, The musical interludes were well timed and well placed. Good strong characters and development tho would love to have seen Mary Margret in a flashback! Retired white male here and clearly appreciate the strong feminist POV. My favorite line has to be "Hey, there's your girl." "Naw...I don't like her anymore." Keep up the Great Work!
