Starfish (2018)
A BORING DRAMA WITH A FEW HORROR MOMENTS!
I don't know why a lot of these low budget productions and independent movies get confused on what genre that they are or what kind of movie that they are.
They sell their movies as an edge of the seat horror movie while most times it has less suspense than a romantic drama. It's actually funny how this movie tries to be unique in its storytelling and art direction but forgetting the most important thing which is to entertain its viewers.
The lead actress Virginia Gardner is in every shot of the movie and did a great job but the movie is basically a boring drama with a few horror moments. The creatures were well designed but they weren't used often enough and weren't as threatening as I expected them to be in the storyline of the movie.
I will put this movie on the list of don't bother to watch. It's boring and lackluster. It would have been more interesting if it was edited to be a 30 minutes short movie rather than a 100 minutes one.
Greyhound Attack (2019)
Probably the worst movie ever !!!
People like these shouldn't be allowed to make movies, they should just use their cameras to shoot wedding videos. They probably used most of their budget for that poster which is certainly meant to deceive people into watching this soulless low budget movie, then the rest of their budget went to hiring costumes and paying for stock footage of flying planes. I don't think they spent more than 50 dollars in the little special effects used in this movie, 1940s movies has better special effects. When the pilots are flying the planes or even standing beside it, it's quite obvious that they ain't flying planes and the planes aren't in the background when they are standing beside it.
The acting is quite poor most times with awful german accents. Some movies are not supposed to be made if you don't have enough budget, you will end up ruining the whole project. That's exactly what happend with Greyhound Attack. It's better you watch wind blowing trees or watch a clear blue sky because it certainly has more colour and is also more interesting than watching this movie. Please stay away from this!!!
Fear the Walking Dead: Close Your Eyes (2018)
Please not another 2 people in the whole episode show !
It's a 2 person or 2 woman show in this one, It's not the first time it's been done in Walking Dead Universe, I truly hate it when just 2 characters take over a whole episode in a walking dead episode, it ends up being too long, not properly edited and sometimes doesn't add anything substantial to the show.
I've got no problem with 2 characters dominating an episode but other characters in the show should also have scenes interlaced with the said episode to spice it up and balanced out the pacing of show. In this case I believe that scenes of Alicia and Charlie should have been cut down or spread out in 2 episodes to allow scenes of other characters in the show to appear in this episode. I loved how the pacing of the now and before scenes are interlaced with each other from episode 1 to 8 but this episode is certainly one of the most boring ones in the whole Fear The Walking Dead series. There's a few jump scares and suspense towards the end especially when they were locked in the basement during the storm but that doesn't redeem the episode from poorly edited boring scenes.
The 9th and this 10th episode after the mid season has been below average. They better come up with something very interesting, smart and intriguing in the remaining episodes to make up for the early dross after the mid season break unless they wanna see this show canceled by the end of season because of poor ratings.
Penny Dreadful: A Blade of Grass (2016)
The worst episode ever!!!
When I saw this episode I knew that the Penny Dreadful series has lost the plot, I was literally bored to death, film students and movie critics might enjoy this episode because of dialogue and darkness but ultimately this episode adds nothing to season and defeats the concept of Penny dreadful, Vanessa in a room at a psychiatrist ward throughout having a mental breakdown and confrontation with Lucifer and Dracula. After I watched this I knew that the series won't last another season, maybe the creators of shows should learn from this and stay true to the core values of their show which is to entertain their audiences and rather than try to make boring art projects that will only please film students and critics.
