Romeo + Isabella (2023)

No Oscar Nod!

I was looking forward to watching this movie, but was extremely let down by the final credits. The acting, to start, was very novice and uninspiring and continued this way throughout the generic film.

This really could have been done so much better than just a bunch of friends decidedly getting together to create a movie that was less than lackluster. The lead trans actress continually whined throughout the movie and went from "why you doing that" to "why did you do that to me", as well as carrying a machine gun in the actresses backseat readily available in the vehicle.

The club scene looked like it was filmed in someone's basement aside from the flashing lights and boom box which were probably nothing more than Christmas blinking lights and someone's smartphone.

The film attempted to throw some "gotcha" moments, but at the end of the day, completed failed overall.

Too Much Hype!

I have continued hearing over and over again how great this movie was and everyone needs to see it. I had heard information about conspiracy theories being part of the movie, especially with the issues that we have today. Although I did not see that, I did see that human and sex trafficking, especially among children, young children, is ultimately ruining the lives of these kids as they become adults and suffer what type of mental or emotional abuse.

Definitely not the best movie I've ever seen, but there were parts of it I thought were really well done. Other parts it seemed like it was put into place for reactions from the audience.

Bed Rest (2022)

Suspenseful Thriller!

I tend to watch a lot of horror, movies, and decided to check out this suspenseful thriller. I was pleasantly surprised with the jumps and plot from beginning to end. The uniqueness is what made the movie for me. Although parts of the plot have been done before, the way it was put in place made me that much more interested. Granted it does not have a lot of the unnecessary referrals that you see in today's movies, the movie establishes that suspenseful, thriller movies are still alive and kicking. It's rare that I see a good movie anymore especially in today's age but, when I watch one, I feel it does Asseri to share with others. You won't be disappointed.

I was excited to see this movie but unfortunately I found it to be very disappointing compared to his other ventures. Don't get me wrong there are some parts of the movie that I enjoyed but it just seem like it was all over the place.

If done another way I think this could have been good. I feel like the mistake was introducing social media and.influencers. From there and forward it was all over the place.

Antebellum (2020)

Powerful !!

I kept putting off watching this for a couple months because I thought it wouldn't have a solid story. I was wrong. This movie is beyond powerful, and anyone that says otherwise didn't comprehend the concept.

I have been wanting to see this for over a year since I heard about it. So I guess I set myself up for high expectations and was completely let down. Towards the end I liked it a lot better then.

I was so excited to see this movie but was let down by the horrible acting of the lead actress and the sub par plot. It really could have been a hit but it just didn't hit the mark!!

I was so looking forward to seeing this movie, as I did the previous ones. It's unfortunate with a $20 million dollar budget that they could have done this SO much better! I mean, couldn't they really find a director with a different vision instead of a horror movie with scantily clad women running and falling. Not to mention, casting an R&B singer. I mean really!!!!! Don't get me wrong, there were a couple, and I only mean a couple, good parts but basically it was just a let down! I still hope another will be made in the future, but with someone that has the vision to scare the crap out of people instead of making me laugh!
