Absolutely beautiful
13 January 2023
People usually say that sometimes real life stories are so extraordinary that one cannot believe it would be true, even if it was fictional. This is the feeling I had watching this documentary, together with absolute admiration for Ms Alice. Her relentless believe and search of everything that is beautiful even when everything is horrible around us.

This is not about music and much less about Jewish people or the holocaust. This film is one of the strongest manifests for humanity and what is really important in life.

I very seldomly give the maximum grade to any movie or documentary but this one is an absolute must see.

Worth taking a look

Two partners, assassins, are waiting for a contact from their boss after they completed what is supposedly their last job. They were supposed to "teach a lesson" but killed the person (a woman) instead. Tension increases as time passes with no contact. Excellent interpretation from all actors with special kudos to Rosamaria Murtinho as the hotel manager.

Carlos Vereza does a great job working both behind and in front of the cameras. Production is good enough for a low budget film. A few technical issues like sound positioning in a few scenes don't impact the final result. In summary, worth taking look.

Superb

This is much more about Brazilian society and embedded racism than football. I watched episode 3 and will definitely watch all of them.

Absolutely superb

I'm reviewing this documentary while watching it. Launch date is Aug 1st, 2021, Ney Matogrosso's 80th birthday. I really like music documentaries where the music itself is the main focus. There are very few interviews between songs. Long live Ney Matogrosso!

Don't understand why this is rated so high

This movie is absolutely "unwatchable". Only makes sense for those who like the story, or know it, or are intestested. As a foreigner this doesn't make sense at all. I watched exactly 6:30 and a few glitches of what comes next and it was more than enough.

Worst movie ever

Congrats to the movie makers! This is my first movie to receive the minimum (1) grade. The whole movie is pointless, characters are empty, bad acting from begin to ending. Also, for a foreigner, I never heard about any of these players. It does not make any sense for them to appear all the time. The plot and jokes are completely nonsense - probably only 1 or 2 jokes in the beginning of the movie were good enough for a laugh. I eventually decided to watch it as it is the the Golden Globe awards list for 2015 comedies but, believe me, this is a complete waste of time. Much more than that, and as some other review I saw in IMDb pointed out, it is an insult. I may very well be a hater (let me know if I'm indeed is) but I hardly ever give low grades to movies and indeed felt compelled to warn people about this one.

Cannot be deemed a masterpiece but worth watching
27 September 2015
I was originally attracted to this movie by the unusual plot (never heard of another movie dealing with someone's past before) and thought that it would be some sort of sci-fi movie but I was pleasantly surprised that it is not.

The script is not error prone. The movie does lacks rhythm at times. However, Lazaro is a superb actor and Alinne does her job very well too.

In summary, it is well worth the short (~1h) plot - after disregarding the countless producers, supporting companies and everyone else that just takes forever at the beginning of every Brazilian movie. As a Brazilian I just feel like I'm paying for it every time I watch a Brazilian movie (and as a matter of fact myself and most Brazilians are, as many of these supporters are state companies or banks). Nevertheless I just felt that money was well spent in this one.

Surprisingly good

It does not matter if you are a fan from Ney Matogrosso. The music and underlying videos will bring you through a journey and you won't notice it is 100 minutes long.

This movie depicts some interesting facts from Ney's childhood and youth, how his career started, how he joined and later on left Secos & Molhados, his many partners and phases throughout his career and uttermost his music. Amazing how we could get songs from so many great composers. The songs are a movie by itself. You could easily what this movie entirely with your eyes closed.
