Solar Opposites (2020)
I LOVE the first THREE seasons... uh oh S04 massive miss!
Season 4 of Solar Opposites is a major letdown, receiving a dismal 3 out of 10. The writing has taken a distressing nosedive, eroding the show's once-engaging narrative. The absence of Roiland's voice for Korvo is jarring, throwing off the character dynamics and leaving fans disconnected. The questionable choice to sideline Roiland appears to be a disastrous misstep, potentially signaling an impending downfall for the series. This decision raises valid concerns about its potential impact on the beloved show Rick and Morty, leaving fans anxious about its future. The future of Solar Opposites hangs in the balance, its once-promising trajectory now uncertain and unsettling.
Ricky Gervais: SuperNature (2022)
One of his best yet
One gets the impression that the woke-'comedy' failing so awfully globally is set to end in the near future. Gervais reminds us the comics push boundaries and poke fun.
An excellent return to form from Gervais.
Moon Knight (2022)
Predictable and overdone
I had never heard of this character before. The opening episode was full of the usual action and seems like just another formulaic marvel venture. Peacemaker this is not.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
You'd need to be a VERY big Spidey fan to call this great
It's ok - full of jokes and lighthearted moments. One for the kids for sure. But really, that ranking of 8.7 is nuts. It isn't the weakest in franchise - but the dialogue is average at best. A typical movie from the Marvel superhero-comedy universe.
I still rate him the best of the modern spidermen.
Reacher (2022)
The casting is perfect, the script is ok
Although this series is based off one of the best Reacher novels - the script and some acting let's it down a wee bit.
This actor in the movies would have been great.
Really enjoyable to see someone who looks like Reacher actually in the role.
Well worth the time for Reacher fans.
After finishing the entire series I am compelled to add an extra star. I am seriously looking forward to many more seasons.
The Beatles: Get Back (2021)
Perfect
Without question. The greatest music documentary ever made.
Every moment is a gem. Watching the most influential pop group of all time craft some of music"s most iconic tunes is a privilege. This documentary is unspeakably beautiful.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Look - it's not Terrible, but...
Ok - it is derivative and slow and awkward-woke. But it is still watchable. It just lacks oomph. The writing is lazy and bombastic and the leads are wooden.
Then again the books never developed much past the 4th one... so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
The Acting is so, so, soooo very bad
I mean, I love a good titan clash and Kong is always the heart of these kinds of movies. But the acting is so poor. A real let down after the powerhouse of ZSJL.
Justice League (2017)
Excellent finale to Synder's daring triology
It is just so good to know that there are still directors out there who respect the superhero genre enough to not turn them into ghastly comedies. If only Joss Whedon had been kept completely away from it and we had been given the unadulterated Synder vision.
On saying that I realise the younger less sophisticated Marvel crowd will still want to have a good moan about it.... and that's fine too.
