How It Ends (2018)
No ending
The writers clearly couldn't think of an ending, so they just stoped it and gave up.
I think it was very disrespectful of writers and producers and filmmakers, generally to ask an audience to invest two hours of their life into watching something that they have created, only to give an ending that is lazy and shockingly bad.
Why would you make a film when you don't have a proper ending for it?
Watching it from the start, I bought into the characters and I like them. I get that it's a road trip to save a person that they love, and I understand that it is against a backdrop of some apocalyptic event. But to have no idea how to end it and to have the disrespect for the audience and not even explain what happened is bad.
Life After Life (2022)
Quality drama
What a pleasure it is to watch something that is intelligent and meaningful and beautifully written and brilliantly acted.
The story itself is a deep one. Philosophically and emotionally. It deals with life and death and loss and love and everything that makes up a single life. But for Ursula, a single life lived many many times
McKenzie Is an incredible actor. She brings so much depth to the character. She is an absolute joy to watch.
Cosmos (2019)
Brilliant
No over-the-top CGI imagery. No science fiction based versions of what they might look like. Just a really good movie about what it would really be like if we made contact.
The acting is really good, and the music is just fantastic. The film builds to a great dramatic finish and the whole thing just feels real. I would definitely recommend.
1917 (2019)
Incredible
Just incredible. Takes your breath away. An exceptional piece of film work and acting.
Girls: One Man's Trash (2013)
Genius
Great writing. Brilliantly acted. She is so insecure and unsure about her life and yet so confident in the way that she approaches the world. This episode is a full on relationship in one episode.
A masterclass in how you should produce and write.
The Way Back (2020)
Feels good
Well acted, great music, great photography, Ben Affleck is likeable, and you feel for him. Great feelgood movie, sad but uplifting at the same time. Well worth the watch.
I Am Greta (2020)
Strong
A very intimate enlightening documentary, focusing on the struggle for a young girl who wants a future on our planet.
Greta shows us how bad and how good this world can be. She shows remarkable maturity and intelligence for her age and is without doubt a leader of a generation and hopefully for other generations in the future.
Filmed with great subtlety and minimalism, this documentary highlights one person on our planet who wants to make a difference for good, for all of us.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
Just beautiful
What a man. What an inspiration. Brilliantly acted by Tom Hanks in a fitting tribute to a wonderful human being.
The Plot Against America (2020)
Compelling and worrying
Brilliantly written, beautifully filmed, great acting and a wonderful script. A great depiction of an Alternate American history.
Kidding (2018)
Wonderful
A truly wonderful beautiful piece of work. Every episode is a gem. The writing is deep and meaningful and dark as well as light. Truly inspirational.
War of the Worlds (2019)
Slow
Desperately slow. Nothing happens. It's just watching people walk around or sit around not really talking
How did this dramatic tale become so boring.
I'm 7 episodes in and still nothing has really happened.
Disappointed
Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind (2018)
Beautiful
A wonderful beautiful biopic of one of life's true comedy legends. The pace of the narrative is perfect, and the choice of film clips, superb.
A wonderful film for a wonderful man
Happy Death Day (2017)
V v v v enjoyable
Great for an evening in with a bottle of red and snacks. The plot has been seen before but this takes nothing away from the loveable characters.
Totally good fun
