Hannah Gadsby: Nanette (2018)
Life Changing
Seldom have I ever truly been moved more, than when I watched this special. I laughed, but I felt such a change come over me. Thank you, Hannah for changing my life.
Under the Skin (2013)
Silence
Never before have I seen a film that has so literally struck me stupid with absolutely no redeeming qualities. Not even Scarlett Johansson nude can redeem this abomination, that I wasted almost two hours that I will never get back.
An astonishing film in that it was made and they did it on purpose.
Little Witches (1996)
Potential Wasted
This film had so much potential, it could have started an entire movement of unique and wondrous horror films where women could have been strong and amazing killers. I wish this was truly flushed out more and the lesbian dynamic that certain scenes was filled with embraced. This film could have made a true statement.
It was an interesting film, and while fine, somewhat missed the mark that was captured in The Craft. Clea Duvall was a pleasant surprise as was Sheeri.
Flor de fango (2011)
Creepy & Predictable
This film starts off nicely, then takes off to where no film really should go. Claudia Zepeda is quite the charming little girl, that soon turns out to be not so nice. This film is disgusting, with no redeeming qualities what-so-ever. The story is a great deal like Lyla-4-Ever meets Lolita, with none of the talent of either, it does not have the haunting effects of either Lyla-4-Ever or Lolita, nor does this film have their unique handling of such a taboo. This film handles the taboo very poorly as a matter of fact. What can be said about a film that is nothing more than an poor excuse to have an older man trying to be with a little girl. This movie an its content is terrible, the acting is terrible, the writing is terrible and the director is an abomination to cinema. This is a poor way to spend about an hour and 40 minutes, those are precious minutes I will never be able to get back. Terrible!
