The Menu (2022)
Better with each watching
Saw this in the theater and left about 40 minutes in. Felt it was trying too hard but mostly I was dealing with a bad back. Thought it was a 6/10 at best. Watched it months later at home out of curiosity, and thought it was a bit better than that thus 7/10. For some reason I keep watching it every time it comes on surprisingly it has grown to a 9/10 for me. Can't quite pinpoint the dramatic change in my liking of the film other than Ralph Fienes being brilliant to watch, per usual, plus the rest of the cast being excellent. Plot and story are pretty good, but mostly it's the tension created throughout, coupled with the aforementioned acting.

Initiate look into a unique man
Above all else I was moved by his ability to be at his seemingly most vulnerable and letting the viewer in. It was moving, interesting, funny at times, and sad at times.

Along for the ride
I'm not sure how I felt about this movie or if I really liked it. I definitely would be hesitant to recommend it but at the same time I was along for the ride after the first twenty or so minutes. Something very real and interesting albeit fairly dark and hopeless in stretches. Felt like I was witnessing something very biographical with no sense whatsoever where the movie was headed which was refreshing. Great acting by the lead.
