Let the Right One In (2022)
Suprisingly good
I was hesitant to watch this series as I had heard that it strayed so far from the original and the book.
Let me be frank: This is NOT a tv-series version of "Låt den rätte komma in" or even the American remake.
There are three similarities between this show and the original film.
1. The vampires name is Ellie which is similar to the original "Eli".
2. The vampire is taken care of by an older male human who kills for her(her father in this case).
3. The vampire befriends her neighbour boy.
Other than that, the story is completely different, although it probably takes place in the same world.
Why the showrunners decided to call the series this I don't know.
Change the name of the female vampire and it could have been a stand alone series taking place in the same world, with different people, 40 years later and across the Atlantic.
The series has good acting, good writing and a compelling story.
Morbius (2022)
Good CGI, Bad Everything else
It is boring, generic and boring again.
The pacing is crazy, the characters and relationships change off screen.
You don't care about anyone in the film.
Leto makes corny jokes while trying to sound badass.
The CGI is good, the camerawork is terrible.
Station Eleven (2021)
Downhill
The first episode was amazing and really gets you excited for the show.
Then there is a time jump where a bunch of hippies is traveling around acting for other hippies. Couldn't continue the show after that.
White Wall (2020)
A strange series.
Written and created by Finns.
Many Swedish-Finn actors and the lead is played by a Norweigan with a flawless Swedish accent.
Everyone but one speaks Swedish, however the dialogue is strange.
It is as if the script was translated from English. There are many lines that could be directly translated to English but don't really feel Swedish, although I could be imagining it. I don't know much about the Swedish spoken in Finland so I can't say if that's the reason.
The cinematography is great, the sets are great and feel realistic. I'm not very impressed with the dialogue and the pacing. The acting is good enough though.
It would get a 5 from me if the sets and cinematography were so so.
Space Force (2020)
Entertaining but not especially good.
There were several funny moments that had me laughing, however there were also many times it made me cringe.
I am not sure if the show is making fun of American super left wing language policing and terms as a part of the absurdity of the setting or if they are serious about that part.
Either way I rather dislike it when shows has jokes centered around being woke and playing up victim mentality constantly.
The Witcher (2019)
A good show overall. Too bad they "blackwashed" it.
Great fight scenes and acting! But it really bugs me when hollywood has to add token US minorities in films and tv-series just to pander to the far left. It's set in a fantastical medieval Poland, so where are all these Africans coming from??
Long Shot (2019)
Overall ok
I did enjoy most of the film, it was funny and suprised me a few times.
What I didn't like about it was the VERY obvious left-wing social politics(not the environmental issues). It was like the script writers assumed that everyone watching this bought into the most ridicoulus, far-fetched of leftist views.
I'm not even American and this was annoying to me.
