The Old Man (2022)
Nonsense
Three illogical points in the story that kept me from finishing even the first episode:
1. Foil in the microwave will make a noise and light show the instant you start it up. No way it waits for you to leave the house first and only then starts to act up.
2. No one with two dogs needs to rig up tin cans on a string in order to be alerted there's an intruder in the house.
3. The angle of those bullet holes will indicate they were fired inches from the floor. Surely he's smart enough to know even small town cops know that.
Maybe the third point is dealt with later in the story. I didn't have the patience to wait and find out. It was really the nonsense with the tin cans that killed the story for me. The only way that can make sense is if it's revealed in the last episode that the whole series takes place in the mind of a small boy with autism holding a snow globe that contains a figure of Jeff Bridges.
The Expanse (2015)
More English, please
"We have some calibration work to do on the Nauvoo's sensory arrays."
Wtf?
Way too much of this nonsensical blah blah jargon dialogue. (Not an uncommon problem in Syfy, alas.)
Missing Link (2019)
Bliss
I've seen mixed reviews, but I absolutely loved it. Beautiful animation, lovable characters, droll verbal humor, and hilarious visual humor. I would have happily sat through a second screening immediately after the first.
