Invasion (2021)
Does anyone read the script?
I don't even know where to start. It's like everyone's talking about everything except what needs to be talked about. It's like they know what is what but they don't know what is what they just strut...WTF
Seriously though, season 2 episode 7 and nobody still has any idea what's going on. Worse still, everytime it seems we're about to get answers, the plot thickens. It's like a bad joke where the punchline never arrives.
I hate that it has such nice special effects because it almost makes you want to watch but it's just too effing slow.
Aneesha is way too stupid, over protective but somehow not protective enough. She also has in her possession some sort of artifact that seems to be very important for winning the war but SHE HASNT TOLD ANYBODY ELSE ABOUT IT.
The Asian scientist lady's character is STILL hung up on her ex 20 episodes later. Like who cares Jesus Christ MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED.
The way the aliens are presented keeps you intrigued but the way the character development unfolds so unbelievably slow really takes away from the mystery and adds to the impatience.
You'll be yearning for something cool to happed the whole show and once it finally does it's just not gonna be satisfying enough because NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR EX GIRLFRIEND CHINESE LADY IM SORRY AND OMG IF I SEE ANOTHER PERSON CRYING IM GOING TO LOOSE IT.
Ok lost it. Please stay away from this show. It's pretty yes but expect nothing more.
Andor (2022)
Best Star Wars has ever been
I don't care. I just don't care if anyone agrees with me.
Andor is MASTERCLASS storytelling for adults who grew up with Star Wars. Each episode is better than the last I kid you not by episode 5 you will not believe this to be possible and yet this show delivers.
This single show is better than anything Disney has done in the past 10 years.
Exemplary character development, great storytelling, beautiful plot, brilliant performances.
Well thought out scenes that seem to expect intelligence amongst audience is refreshing. Absolutely marvelous to see a realized world for non imbeciles where Empire is not just the "bad guy" but also why bad guy bad and how bad guy bad. Not a single lightsaber was needed in the production of this show.
Instant classic. Bar set.
Foundation (2021)
Forget the books!
Sticking to the source material would be extremely difficult to do and at the same time develop some sort of character continuity and development.
Season 1 absolutely laid the foundation (heh) for the plot to grab hold and season 2 just took off with it. Some pacing issues in the middle but I guess it's necessary in order to explain some of the shows wackier concepts. It really is unbelievable the sheer breadth of scale this show has manage to reproduce and just the brute amount of storytelling that can come from it.
This show is an absolute must watch and the pinnacle of what sci-fi should and can be.
Can't wait for season 3!
