Better Call Saul: Point and Shoot (2022)
Dark Saul
This is my favorite show on tv, I've been following it since the beginning, love the narrative arcs, twists and storytelling in general. By stating this I now will say this episode (great one btw) made me think how much the series is trying to appeal certain "standard" or trend by certain decisions, one and I think the most obvious is the dark cinematography, I get that lightning, exposure and color correction have to support the story in order to have some sort of atmospheric language and coherence visually speaking, the problem starts when this aspect starts to overcome the nature of the project as a whole, and worse still, when it's because of a trend or a "standard" that other shows or movies try to make as an "artistic" decision. Love the episode, COMPLETELY HATED it was so visually dark and not because I couldn't see clearly, but because I was so distracted by that, by what the show is telling me with the story alone I personally think there's no need to get so dependent on those aspects, simple is more, there is already very good writing, don't try to overwhelm it with extreme and senseless decisions like this one.
PS. I'm not referring to the underground scene, that worked well I think.
Another PS. I gave this episode an 8 rating but now I recall that I also don't get why Mike didn't tell Saul and Kim that Lalo is dead. I know in Breaking bad season 2 ep 5 Saul maybe thinks Lalo is alive, but I just don't buy that Mike avoids telling them just because, very weak decision if they let it there.
Better Call Saul: Axe and Grind (2022)
Planning?
With the pandemic happening does AMC or any production ejecutives felt the need to please the fans by adding 3 more episodes on paper to the season finale? Have a lot of questions and I'm not sure how much intention came from the creative team and how much from political people. I don't know what you guys think, but it quite seems Vince and the team are just reassuring their future in personal finances, first by filming El Camino and now with this decisions (I think their completely intentional) of making an "extremely calm and boring 3 episodes before the storm". It is not the first time they've done this, last season had also some pretty frustrating bits. They know and have the confidence that we've come so far that we are not turning away from this show at this point, and just because of that I'm quite let down. Hope the last 7 episodes make some sort of sense emotionally and narratively, but all we can do is wait, like we've been waiting all this time.
Btw, this last 3 episodes made the 13 promised feel like a unecessary political promise to win something (I don't know what else could they wanted from us at this point).
Cheers fellow potato eaters, hope Kim doesn't end up in Belize.
The Eddy (2020)
To Chazelle's manager
What a start, very promising first two episodes, great Chazelle work to set the tone and style of the series, from the third on, all that great work stablished went to complete trash, to start with the bad dialogues and awefully rare script beats, mostly on episode 4 (where I stopped watching this series), aweful script decisions. Truly sad that Netflix has to be that insecure not letting the entire series being shot with the same 16mm film camera Chazelle started with, that change to digital completely ruins the experience, also the music Chazelle started with (la la land like chords, musical freedom and connection) turned to a waste when they decided to use a different composer for the next episodes, extremely bad idea taking to mind that in the story is the same band. Wish they had let one musical mind for the entire series, and also let Chazelle direct more than 2 episodes, at least the last one. Had very high expectations for this, I'm very dissapointed.
Better Call Saul: Something Unforgivable (2020)
For your consideration.
First of all, huge fan of BB and BCS, but someone please tell Gould to not get carried away, what a weak pace, not to mention the sloppy team of 4 "deadly killers". Also Vince got it with his not that necesary movie (making him less involded in this season) to tell us something I made up in my head in 2013. I feel they relay in very slow pace to create suspense more than they should (like in El Camino) when they had created very tense and edge sitting previous episodes. It's time to wake up guys, not giving up this show but please don't rely on the same elements, this feels pretentious and weak, I nearly gave up in E05 what a waste. Overall a good season but not that good middle and ending, incredible E06 - E09.
See you in 2021.

A big brba hint
Well, how do I start... I don't know how many of you notice or remember 12 years ago, a show called Breaking Bad started with a mesmerizing pilot evolving into a new phase of TV that would change everything forever. Well, in that first episode Walter and Jesse are looking for a place to produce meth, and so Walter decides to take all of his money out of the bank to give it to Jesse to buy an RV. Okay here's where it gets interesting. Do you remember the name of the bank Walter took his money out from??... That's right, Mesa. Not Mesa Verde. Just Mesa: credit union. Oh, and a logo that has nothing to do with a horse or a cowboy. Now we're talking.
Better Call Saul: Dedicado a Max (2020)
Dedicated to Vince&Peter
Okay, I'm a huge fan of this universe aside from el camino, everything was going perfect, this last two episodes are starting to look very pretentious, this was not the interesting part of bcs and brba, I liked more when plots where playing with us, making us thing the series was going one way when in the background a more profound and plot twisting matter was about, here it seems they know we know the formula and therefore loosing that deep and intellectual storytelling making this and the past episode boring, but not because of the pace, but because I feel they are underestimating their audience, despite they all saying otherwise. Hope the last 5 episodes of this season show the contrary and play true to the universe they created and stop that cheap formula they tried in el camino, please Vince and Peter, don't underestimate your audience for the last season (6). We know what you are capable of.
