I Hung out at the Bar they exited in Dorchester!
12 August 2009
When Patrick and Angie back out of the bar they had trouble in,they show the Front of the bar we hung in. It is called Cataloni's. If you look they show an alley that runs between the bar and the building next door. There are a set of stairs that lead up to the Strand theater. Also you can see St.Kevins church and school. My wife's whole family went there and I got married there. This is the second time I have seen this location used in a TV/Movie. I saw it years ago during a "Spencer for hire" episode. Of course when Robert Urich crosses the street he does not cross Hancock street where the bar is but he ends up on Washington street in Roxbury.I always get a kick out of stuff like this. You could tell someone from the Boston area made this film. They got most of the little things right like the accents, locations and such. In the Book Patrick and Angie's office was in the Tower of the old St.Margeret's church. This must not have been possible to shoot or I am sure they would have left this in. Just a great, great film. Highly recommended.

The Arrow (1997)

A very interesting film.
7 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
"Spoilers ahead!" I just saw this movie on Cable for the 1st time today. I was stunned. I had never heard of the "Avro Arrow". And I consider myself somewhat of a history buff.To think that they designed and built not only the Plane, but also the engine and a defense system is amazing. I saw at the end of the movie that it had done things that not even our F-18 could do today! The worst part was they were all destroyed. What a shame. Another case of a stupid moron politician getting in the way of progress. Anyway, just a terrific film. Strongly recommend. I wonder what happened to the one they flew off in. We may never find out. I'm glad I saw this film. Dan Akroyd is a very underrated actor.

Well, to summarize: A great family film for all ages and a great era
27 January 2006
When I was a kid,my family went to Old Orchard beach in Maine. My mothers friend worked at the local movie house. This movie was the one playing while we were there. I must have seen it 10 times! I was about 6 or 7 as at the time as I think this was a second run type of theater. I loved this movie. But its funny, I have not seen this in years. It's on cable from time to time so I'm sure I'll run into it someday. This is one of the many films that Disney produced in the 50's,60's and 70's. There are so many to name, but here's a few: Son of Flubber, The absent minded professor, The Shaggy dog, The computer who wore Tennis shoes,etc... Just a great era for family movies. Many great memories.

My wifes uncle plays Irv the pawnbroker in this film!
23 September 2004
I have always liked this film. Imagine my surprise when I found out my

wifes uncle is in the movie! He plays Irv the pawnbroker. I had seen it a bunch of times before I found this out. He is the guy who sells Frank the lottery ticket. There are some great scenes in this film. The one where they are going to pick up the insurance check for their car that was "stolen" Ha! Ha!. is a classic. I have always liked Danny Aiello. He is one of the great Character actors of all time. And Anthoney Lapaglia is a solid actor also. The real Frank Pesce is also in the movie. You might recognize him from Beverly hills Cop with Eddie Murphy and other films of the like.
