Forced Black Dialogue
18 February 2022
I was excited for this series. The cast is great. The writing is HORRIBLE!!!

As a black American, the amount of forced "black" dialogue in the first scene along was absolutely cringe. When black people get the chance to tell stories, we don't have to ghetto it up for a larger audience. Black people are not a monolith but this show would have you believe that we all say words like lit and catch a case or say Miss Thang Thang...Modern shows like Power and Empire and Bel-Air and Atlanta, The Chi and even Grown-Ish allow for black folk to be all types of black in natural ways. This is high-end coonery. I mean, rose water? Coconut oil? Stop.

I understand wanting to make a show that showcases black excellence but this is an unnatural attempt at pandering and pushing a weird narrative to white audiences. We don't need to prove things to people. Let's make realistic shows unapologetically...

Marvel TV Nailed It! More Please Hulu!
20 November 2021
Hit-Monkey is funny, violent, and pretty comic accurate. The casting choices were really good. If you've been waiting for Deadpool like behavior from Marvel, this is for you! We would love a 2nd season but if this is how Marvel TV ends their era, they went out with a bang!

Marvel Storytelling At It's Finest!
4 November 2021
This is a spoiler free review. This was an ambitious film. The film was long. The cast was extensive. But they nailed it! The individual performances were excellent and the chemistry amongst characters was wonderful. The cinematography was stunning. This movie was well-rounded. It had heart. It made me mad. It made me sad. It made me laugh. I lost track of time and that was a great thing. For Marvel lovers, this movie really delivers. It ties into everything we know and unlocks so much more of the universe we know and love. I am stoked to see where these characters end up as far as the rest of the MCU goes. Feige knows! Chloe did her thing!

Bad Meaning Good???
28 August 2021
Had I not pushed past the first episode, this rating would be lower. It pains me to see good actors in terrible roles. Alfre, you took the check. Jason Momoa is one of the worst actors on the planet but women like looking at him so here we are. The plot is shaky and at times it works but the inconsistencies really stick out like sore thumbs. At it's best, the show is so ridiculous, it's fun. I would say more but I don't want to spoil it for folks. I'll probably keep watching just to see what they try to get away with.

One of my all-time favorites
8 February 2019
This movie might just be terrible, but I love it. It's one of my favorite movies ever. Not because it's Shakespeare level acting or genius level writing. Its just fun and it's exactly what I expected. Ving Rhames steals the show as does DJ No Request aka Craig Robinson. It's fun and cheesy comedy. That's it. If you like that, you will love this. If you think about it too hard you won't.

Turn It Up (2000)

I wish I could give it a negative rating
13 January 2019
This is probably 1 of 2 movies in the entirety of my life, where I left because it was so bad. The acting was non existent. The script was terrible. The action was terrible. How was this even released in theaters? It was straight to DVD at best. I wish I could sue for that time back. It was truly wasted. Do not waste yours.

A Spidey Movie That Works In Multiple Dimensions
14 December 2018
Visually stunning. Great storyline. Great cast. Amazing soundtrack. Tear jerking cameo. Pop culture post credit scene of the decade. Thank you Marvel and Sony for making a Spidey movie everyone can love.

If You Love The Show, You'll Really Love The Movie
28 July 2018
As a comic book nerd and a Dad of kids who love the show as much as I do, I was thrilled when I found out they were making a movie. The wit, sarcasm and cameos from the DC and Marvel universe are awesome. Teen TItans Go to the movies is exactly what fans of the franchise want and need. My kids range from 6-14 and we had a great time. They laughed. I laughed. The entire theatre laughed.

Loved the 1st. Wasn't sure what to expect from a sequel set after Infinity War but I was pleasantly surprised!
6 July 2018
After the events of Infinity War, knowing that I would be watching a movie that took place before the events made me skeptical about whether or not I would enjoy this movie. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a film that as a standalone would be amazing. The synergy between the actors and actresses was perfect. Scott;s daughter is as sweet as she was in the last film. I am glad she got more screen time. Luis steals every scene he is in. The entire security team play a great Pips to his Gladys Knight. The action scenes were done very well. I live n Atlanta and I visit SF on business so even though I knew where the scenes were, the switching was seamless on the action scenes. Loved the car scenes and the fight scenes as well. It's just a charming movie. Funny. Heartwarming. Action Packed. The perfect film to make you forget that half of everyone in the Universe disappeared....

Entertaining for sure
30 May 2016
Once I released myself from my self proclaimed comic book opinions of how First Class ruined the timeline, I was able to thoroughly enjoy Days of Future Past. Seeing Apocalypse as the next hurdle, I was super excited for this movie. I can say I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the story line and there was tons of action. They managed to avoid the trap of comic books movies of late, re-telling of origin stories and they still managed to introduce new characters and allow for further development of others. I look forward to the future as well. I could nitpick but I would rather allow myself to enjoy as much as possible. Obviously I have questions about some things but hopefully they will be answered in the next few movies.
