The Fairly OddParents: The Big Fairy Share Scare (2016)
Fanfiction with the Nickelodeon Label
After watching this episode I had to wonder if one of the writers was named Chloe or if they had a daughter named Chloe, because this episode reeks of that self-insert fan-fiction type.
The episode revolves around a newcomer who brings nothing to the table that existing character Trixie Tang couldn't already do. The plot introduces a new conflict which could have promise but did not at all show in this episode. Combine that with animation bugs, continuity errors and a kneecap for the entire series and you have an episode most fans will switch to a different channel to see what's on.
If you are a fan of the show, I recommend stopping before you get to this one.
Goemon (2009)
Silly, Over-dramatic & Kick-ass
As someone who had enjoyed reading up on the Azuchi–Momoyama period a lot, I was eager to watch this film as soon as I saw that trailer to see how the writing would go in regards to the Hideyoshi conspiracy theory and Goemons death.
And they handled it very well.
Seeing the characters handled as they were in comparison to the real life counterparts was for the most part spot on and the little differences are excusable as they add to the character development
The acting is very good (Note: I do not speak Japanese but I am basing this off body language and voice tone)
The only thing I can imagine that would put people off is the below average special effects. But I can look past that when comparing it to the low budget this thing and the questionable amount that actually went into the effects.
If you are looking for something with a lot of action, I recommend it.
If you are wondering how they can take a real story and tell it with another approach, you may enjoy what they have come up with.
If you want to see how good a film can be on an extremely low budget, then I more then recommend this because I was blown away at such a sight.
Street Fighter (1994)
Disappointment?
When I heard all the negativity about this film I just had to see it. And I can't see what the problem is with this film.
Supposedly the problem was that it put more focus on comedy then martial arts, but both seemed rather well here.
Many of the jokes put in seemed to get a giggle out of me such as Zangief's stupidity and Bison's lack of taking anything seriously. As for the martial arts, what is here is pretty good too such as tag team fight, a sumo wrestle and the main one with the Protagonist and the Antagonist.
Another problem I suspect the film may of had was that not many of the characters were fleshed out enough, but I personally can forgive that since there isn't much room for all characters and it's nice to even see them put in here at all.
The effects, while many outdated nowadays, are pretty passable and the sets were really well designed.
I understand this film didn't do well for many but its one I can personally recommend if you have not seen it.
Monsters (2010)
Go Watch Paint Dry
Have you ever wanted to see two people walking through the desert for over an hour, and watch a Monster built movie with almost no monster ever appearing? then you will want to watch this movie!
A movie with the word 'Monsters' in the title, that is built around the existence of a powerful creature..... and you don't get to see it till the end. Want a female and male character having no affection towards each other talking about the Mexican border being pointless?
This film has almost no form of a plot and the pacing is by far the worst in any movie, our two heroes will never be in any form of danger.
The backgrounds and Camera angles are very good in this film, but they cannot in any way carry it on it's own, it does not look like it had a budget of $800,000 dollars.
The 41-Year-Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It (2010)
Worse the Birdemic?
Now, to this day, Birdemic is still the least watch-able and failed harder then 41-Year-Old Blah, blah BLAH!.
However, Birdemic cost about $10,000 Dollars, It didn't have good actors (In fact some are not even actors)
This movie on the other hand cost over $1 Million, had some of the most adored actors ever. And it failed to be even dull, it's painful to watch. This movie claims to be a comedy, but there was barely any attempt at a joke, I know not everyone has my kind of humour, but I know when something was meant to be a joke, there were almost no jokes even made. The Film references commercials and other movies to death, the character names (E.G. McAnalovin')make no sense.
If anyone ever want's you to watch this film, punch them in the face.
Sengoku basara (2009)
Entertaining and Amazing.
If you're want an anime recommended to you, I recommend this one.
Based on an enjoyable video game that was somewhat based on the Sengoku Period, this anime takes place in a massive warfare between a group of factions at each others throughts.
The Character work was really well done, there is bound to be a character you will love, and one you will hate. Some are violent, some are peaceful. Some are intellectual and some are buffons. All major characters are abridged for entertainment purposes such as having modern weaponry or even punching oceans.
Each episode, you will experience flashy fighting and subtle humour. Some scenes are quite tragic and a few even disturbing.
The Music itself is good because it does it's part in setting the mood (the mood mostly being a rushing feeling) especially in terms of it's casual fight scenes.
Sengoku Basara gets my 10 out of 10
