Amazing scenery and acting combined with charm of the 50s
13 May 2020
This show just came outta nowhere and glued me to the screen. Brilliant cinematography, simply unforgettable cast and stunning scenery. It might be a bit over the top considering PCness, but totally forgiveable in the light of well, everything else! I could praise every single actor but would like to highlight Jim Parsons (who I just resented as Sheldon Cooper), Holland Taylor and David Corenswet who most likely will play Superman one day. I'd highly recommend this movie to every film lover, 50s addict and just everyone who'd like to see an uplifting story about equality!

Sweet mediocre christmas romance
12 November 2019
I don't see why it got so many low points. It's not the peak of cinema, but in its own genre it's absolutely enjoyable. A feel good young-adult rom-com with many talented young actors, a quite simple and sometimes silly story that unrealistic enough for you not take it seriously but go along with it. I have seen far worse Christmas movies with far-reaching plot. It's just sweet and dumb, not much to think about, just relax.

10/10 visuals, 3/10 drama
3 June 2019
This movie has absolutely stunning visuals, cinematography and sound mixing. It was so spectacular I didn't want to blink during action scene not to miss anything. Creative fight coreographies and amazing power balancing. It's a must watch on IMAX.

On the other hand the human part was even more terrible than I expected. The story itself wan't that bad but the execution was more than chaotic. I won't even mention the immortality of the main characters or the teleportations, or the Sherlock Holmes like skills of the Dad. But the super illogical behavior of the female lead, the 2D personalities and the supe-cringe-worthy dialogues were perfect to throw you off every time.

However I didn't go for the human drama, I was ready for a cliché - but not a bad written cliché. Still, CGI secenes are amazing so I had a lot of fun watching it, would recommend to anyone who's into ground-breaking CGI orgies.

Brilliant fight scenes, authenticity and beautiful naked women
27 May 2019
This is show is really a professional mixture of Banshee and the Peaky Blinders. I love the late 1800's San Francisco atmosphere with all its corruption and immigrant issues (which is really relatable nowadays too). The acting is on point in most of the cases. Andrew Koji is a perfect lead, and Jason Tobin is great in the role of the hot-head right-hand. The story itself isn't too complicated, classic political games with tons of violence and here we arrive to the fight scenes which undoubtedly the best parts of the show. They are often over the top, but really spectacular and enjoyable actions scenes are usually are. The choreographies are amazing, even if sometimes they're too obviously staged. Besides these I love the rawness of the show whether we talk about how bloody it is or how much they show of the human body during sex scenes.

To summarize it: it's Banshee in Peaky Blinders setting with Bruce Lee like fight scenes.

New standard for zombie shows
29 January 2019
I wouln't say I'm a huge fan of asian movies, but after Train to Busan I had to give chance this korean newcomer. And god almighty, it was definetely one of my decisions in the past months. This is a masterpiece. First of all: evetything is beautiful and authentic. The landscape, the scenery, the costumes are all vibrant and exciting. The acting is nearly flawless, even if the only face I've seen before is Doona Bae's. It's a bit difficult at the beginning to remember the faces, who's who, where and why but once you're familiar, you'll get permanently hooked.

The way they treat the zombie question (how they born, how they act etc.) is refreshing and terrifiying at the same time. Huge ups fro the directing and storytelling, I love how they started the action scenes in small, not even showing what happened, only the aftermath. This made the vievers assume the creators didn't have enough money for large scenes with a lot of extras. But how wrong we were! From the middle of the show it's packed with grandiose and brutal action scenes, with bloody close-ups and horrifíying grand totals.

I'd recommend it to everyone who loves zombie show, it'll be your new favorite I guarantee!

Don't believe anyone who says it's good!
27 October 2018
After many good reviews I went to watch it last night and it was probably one of my worst cinema experiences ever. I understood the idea that it's made to reflect the original movie, but in 2018 it's not relatable or even slightly interesting, only a huge collection of slasher clichés. There was maybe on scene where I didn't know what's gonna happen and I'm not even a horror movie fan.

Jamie Lee Curtis was ok, the funny black kid was great but all the rest lacked creativity and soul so much I almost fell asleep. I wouldn't recommend anyone spending money on it... HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!
