The Dealer on Campus (2020)
Brilliant and hilarious Short Film. Very Well Written.
I had the pleasure to watch this Short Film at the Venice Film Festival, since it was a semi finalist. It was a such a treat, truly was. The characters are well written therefore, multi dimensional, the acting was stellar and top notch, especially from Rob Queree, who plays Principal Phil Johnson. The cinematography was really well done and the editing was well executed. Each scene was edited nicely that flowed really well. The production design was great, everything looked so good! Gotta love Susan Daniel's directing style, that's for sure. And of course, the screenplay is well written and the film was nicely executed.
Dark (2017)
The Best Show Since Mr. Robot.
I was looking for a show to get into, now that Mr. Robot has ended. I've seen a lot of shows. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men, Mr. Robot, Six Feet Under, Boardwalk Empire, Peaky Blinders, but Dark has got to be one of the best shows I've ever seen. What's worse is that this show doesn't get enough love and appreciation it deserves.
The plot and storytelling is intriguing. The characters are complex, the acting is amazing. The Cinematography, colour palette and editing is amazing. The sound designs are compelling. The ominous music and the soundtrack is incredible. It's probably
Season 2 is better than Season 1 and this show is an underappreciated gem. An underrated masterpiece. I've watched it twice, and about to for a third time. I wish more people I knew watched it, so I could have someone to discuss the show with. Can't wait for Season 3!
Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
Glad to see it's a 10
Wow. Simply, just wow.
This entire episode was just a Masterpiece, that was worthy of it being a 10 on IMDB. One of the greatest episodes in Television History. This is possibly the greatest thing that has ever graced my TV Screen.
Every episode is just pure art and a pure masterpiece, particularly this season. They have just topped Episode 5. This episode just keep me hanging on the edge of my seat and every frame was just delicate. The acting, blocking the cinematography, the editing, all was just mesmerising. I love the Cinematic Format they did this episode, kinda like the episode with last season.
If I could rate this episode any higher than 10, I could! it would 10000000000/10!
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
Just finished watching it for the very first time and all I have to say is... WOW!
I'm 23 years and I just finished watching Avatar the Last Airbender for the very first time and all I have to say is wow. What a show. I am completely blown away. I have seen a lot of show, and I mean a lot of shows. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies, The Handmaid's Tale, The Wire, The Sopranos., Better Call Saul, etc, the list goes on. But Avatar the Last Airbender is one of the best shows I ever came across watching. Not just best cartoon, which it is, but it is one of the best shows ever made.
The show is extremely well written. The world building is very detailed, the characters are complex and the storytelling is engaging. All what makes an excellent story. The animation style is very beautiful and unique and the show itself blends humour and drama perfectly.
If you haven't seen this show, I highly recommended watching it. Please, do not sleep on Avatar the Last Airbender. If you are still disappointed with how Game of Thrones ended, I recommend watching Avatar. I guarantee you won't be disappointed with how it ended.
Stay or Leave (2019)
Great Short Film
I saw this Short Film, at the Kino #141 Screening in Sydney, and I have to say, what a great short film. The script is well written, the characters are complex, the Actors do an a phenomenal job at portraying the characters. The short film itself,. is well directed, as well as the editing and the cinematography were amazing and the colour palette used was very beautifully done. I look forward to more projects done by the amazingly talented Susan Daniel!
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Disrespectful to the books. Disappointing, bland, boring and awful.
As a fan of ASOIAF, I found this episode to be disrespectful. Honestly, I wasn't much excited for this season, as the past couple of seasons had been terrible. However, these past few episodes, have reached a new low. They were just so poorly written and rushed, they honestly felt like they were written by Tommy Wisesau. David Benioff and DB Weiss are Hollywood hacks, who have butchered a beloved, compelling story. They don't care about giving us a good story, just actor's emoting, preparing the actor's for big scenes, just to win them Emmys. They even said this in interviews. This episode just felt flat. It was boring, disappointing and rushed. Honestly, I'm glad this show is done, I can't wait for Winds of Winter to be released.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Disappointing
Honestly, this show has been going downhill since Season 5. However that being said, this episode was just really disappointing. The visual effects were really cool, the musical score composed by Ramin Dijawdi was amazing, but the writing, like in the past 3 seasons has been terrible. I can't believe I once loved this show.
What I really hated about this episode was a lot of things. Plot holes. lack of logic, bad dialogue and fanservice. But what I really hated the most was how anti-climatic it was. Throughout 8 seasons, the army of the dead and the Night King had a lot of build up towards them and guess what. Defeated in just one episode, by Arya! Seriously? What ever happened to the whole "Azor Ahai" prophecy?
Honestly, at this rate, I'm just watching this dumpster fire of what was once, a truly spectacular show to end and wait for the last two books, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring to come out. Whatever the ending Martin has in mind, it can't be this bad.
Derry Girls (2018)
Brilliant, Hilarious, Realistic and Well Written
I found this show on Netflix, cause I happened to be bored one afternoon and binged watch all six episodes, and I absolutely loved it. The 90s nostalgia is really cool, the premise is great, the episodes are solid and well written. The show really taps into the realism and context of the time so well. The characters are well written and likeable. The cast all do a great job playing their characters. All in all, this show brilliant and hilarious. This show is so funny, I laugh out loud so much. I definitely recommend it as a must watch! I can't wait for the second season!
Death of a Horseman (2019)
Great Documentary Short Film
I saw this Documentary Short Film at the Vimeo's Lift Off Documentary Filmmakers Showcase Online, and really enjoyed it. The Artist, Samuel Barrie, who was the subject of the documentary was really interesting, as well as creative and talent. It was seeing Samuel share his journey and experience in creating the LP Visual Album, "Death of a Horseman", that was so beautifully captured with amazing cinematography as well as a well directed and edited documentary. Overall, I really enjoyed this documentary, and recommend anyone to watch this on YouTube, as well as to download some of Samuel's music. All in all, a great documentary short film.
Roma (2018)
Beautifully told story, told with beautiful cinematography
Truly a beautiful story, told with beautiful cinematography, that shows the beautiful scenery as well as using a colour palette that suits the film's tone, as well as amazing production design and editing, all being used in capturing the film's beauty and realism. The actors all did a phenomenal job as portraying their characters, with giving us incredible emotional moving performances, that helps capture the realism, all in all, creating a believable, life like performance.
Overall, this film was absolutely beautiful, a masterpiece. I hope this film dominates the Oscars. It has been nominated for ten Oscars, and this films deserves to win every award it gets nominated.
The Wire (2002)
Amazing Storytelling, The Best TV Show Ever!!
I have watched so many shows, but honestly, I have to say, The Wire is one of the best, if not, the best TV Series, I have ever seen. It is right up there with The Sopranos, Mad Men, Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones (Season 1-4). What a show. It's like reading an interesting, engaging novel. With complex storytelling, filled with complex characters, played by talented actors delivering, raw powerful acting performances, along with excellent directing, editing and cinematography, making this series, truly ahead of it's time and the best ever; If anyone hasn't this series, I highly recommend it, it is a must watch.
The Sopranos (1999)
Probably the greatest TV Series of all time
I can't believe this show premiered 20 years ago, and it still holds up really well. It is better than pretty much anything on TV today. It is such a groundbreaking show. The acting is incredible, the characters are well written and well developed, the actors fo an incredible job portraying the characters. The directing, cinematography and editing is just absolutely stunning, the writing is brilliant. This series is a masterpiece that was ahead of it's time, that broke the mould. The only other show that comes close to this show thematically is Mad Men, but let's face it. There will never be a show as good as The Sopranos.
Reigns of Regions (2018)
Very Funny
I watched the first two episodes on YouTube, and I found this show to be very funny. It's well written, smart, hilarious, great acting. I love it, and I recommend it as a must watch.
