Coriolanus (2011)
Where are the English subtitles?
8 May 2012
I'm not familiar with the story and after watching the film I'm still not. The speech seems to have been greatly cut to make it more palatable? or easier to understand? Why not go the extra step and make it so the world can follow it. I enjoyed the comparative "Romeo + Juliet" but undoubtedly due to my familiarity with the story.

It's probably a good tale with clever twists and turns but I couldn't follow it and I expect most people whom haven't studied it, or speak like Yoda, will also have a hard time, which makes for some tough viewing.

"The tongues o' the common mouth: I do despise them;"

I'm not going to rate it because for some this film will be great, the production is very good but for the likes of me and I'm sure more than are willing to admit, you may as well watch it on mute.

A Parody of itself
23 March 2012
Apparently the previous mission impossible was so ridiculous the new film had to make fun of itself. The impossible missions of perfect timing, incredible feats of bravery and incredibly accurate reflex's have been replaced with a trial of errors, making things up as they go along.

It almost manages to redeem itself with the brilliantly clever gadgets and ocean's 11 style scenarios but is let down again by the massive inconsistencies.

It's a real shame they went the typical Hollywood route of bigger, louder and more explosive, I used to be a fan. I hope the franchise dies with this film and comes back again in a decade with a new spin, reminiscent of the original.

This plot hole sums up the whole film.
17 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
"Plot holes The logic by which Agent Geary "proves" that Shepherdson (Richard Gere) is Cassius is flawed. The "proof" is that Gere is in every crime scene photo, thus proving "Cassius comes back to the crime scene". But as Gere was in fact posing as investigating CIA agent, supposedly chasing Cassius, it was not only normal, but essential for him to go to all the crime scenes of Cassius' murders. "

This film is dumb. It has the budget and the actors but it can't make up for the dumb script. The actors performances were disappointing, probably because they couldn't bring themselves to believe and immerse themselves in such a lame plot.
