Manifest (2018)
Couldn't get past Ep6! Such a snoozefest
Can't believe that Netflix picked up this show for another season, with its atrocious acting and dragging storyline, but cancelled the amazing sci-fi series "The OA" after only 2 seasons!!!
Something is definitely wrong with the world.
Euphoria (2019)
Groundbreaking? Pfft... hardly!
You know the bar is really low these days when people are calling THIS pretentious crap as "raw" or "groundbreaking" *eye roll*
Can't blame them completely, with the amount of bad shows and movies being made nowadays, anything with shock value seems "groundbreaking" to them. Such a pity.
KIDS (movie) from the 90s did it better, even Skins (UK show) was more intense and provocative than this cliched tripe.
Nisser (2021)
Josefine ruined this for me
Just 3 episodes in and I want to smack that little girl so bad!!! Never have I felt this way for child character before.
She's super annoying and apparently her parents are always oblivious about her whereabouts. Talk about bad parenting!
Not sure if I want to continue watching this crap.
Clickbait (2021)
Who is rating this crap?
I binged watched it in hopes of seeing a solid thriller and ended up watching the most ridiculous plot, I have seen in years!
Did the filmmakers forget we're not living in 1999 anymore? So a bunch of women get catfished and supposedly fall in love with a guy they have NEVER seen IRL!!! I'm presuming video chat didn't exist in this movie world... and to top it off, a mentally unstable woman actually kills herself over a guy she only chatted with a few times... Really!?!
Then we have the victim, who had just been kidnapped, tortured and released, run off to confront his catfisher, instead of reaching home safe or alerting the cops first... seriously, who even wrote this garbage!!!
Lastly, we have the teenage son, whose stupidity leads him to be kidnapped too.
As for the actual "killer"... What were they thinking! It did not make any sense at all and just seemed like a rushed plot, only a filmmaking student could come up with.
What a disaster this series was. Mediocre acting. Illogical plot and a complete flop.
Barbaroslar: Akdeniz'in Kilici (2021)
Too soon for a higher rating
The show is only one episode old and it's to early to make any sort of predictions at this point. Based off on first episode alone, I'm rating it a solid 7.
The acting, cinematography, costumes and sets all look spectacular. The only weak point(s), so far, are the fighting sequences and special effects. The scenes on the moving ship don't seem real enough. Fighting scenes are blah but the storyline is interesting and I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Six Windows in the Desert (2020)
Color me surprised!
This is my first venture into Saudi movies and I must say I am pleasantly surprised. It's very bold (by Saudi standards) and creative. All stories have a great artistic flair to them and I had no idea, the saudi film scene was getting this good.
Kudos to the makers and the actors!
P. S. Don't understand the negative reviews. I guess, most of the Saudis are not used to this type of arthouse cinema.
The Unholy (2021)
One of the worst horror movies of this decade!
As horror genre fan, I found this movie to be a travesty for horror film lovers. Lazy plot, mediocre acting, childish jump scares.
There was NO redeeming quality to it. I don't understand how Jeffrey Dean Morgan agreed to do this.
What a waste of time.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Absolute TRASH!
Never seen a worse zombie movie than this... Where was the story? Where was the action? Soo many plot holes, I can't even begin to list them!
Save your time and watch "Train to Busan" instead.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Don't even bother
I feel like woke feminism has robbed us out of many a great HW movies and all we're going to see now is political agenda and extreme left wokism in the films.
RIP Hollywood. It was good while it lasted.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
F that ending!
The completely ludicrous ending ruined what could've been a great psychological thriller!
Cursed (2020)
Political correctness be damn*d
Let me start off by saying that I have watched all the 10 episodes, not out of interest but in hopes of this series getting any better.
Did someone mention GoT in the same sentence as this? Blasphemy.
Never have I seen a fantasy show with lead characters so bland and forgetful.
So this supposedly "gifted" girl is to be the true wielder of the most powerful sword and she can't even swing it properly? All throughout the fight scenes, she swings it around in hopes of hitting something.
Not to mention, she's also a witch but has trouble using her powers to get out of tough situations and to kill her enemies.
That's TWO of the talents wasted on her.
Now, let's come to the casting. As a POC, I despise changing classics to include diversity, which seems so forced and ridiculous!
Here's an idea, why don't these film makers instead write NEW material for POC as leads? I for one would love to watch that.
"Black Panther" wouldn't be such a huge hit without a black lead. Get my point.
When will this PC culture end and stop ruining movies/shows?
They did the same with Witcher and now this... it doesn't work.
Judging from the comments, it's obvious this show was meant for teens only. They're the only ones giving it 10 points.
What a complete missed opportunity.
Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020)
A distorted description of the siege of Constantinople
Heavily biased, semi accurate account of the siege of Constantinople. For some reason, more emphasis were laid on Lord Giovanni Giustiniani than Mehmed, the Fatih himself.
Again, Islamic armies were painted in a slightly negative way, portraying them as warmongers and aggressive while poor Romans (christians) only defending their city and protecting the West from Islam *eye roll*
Hard to believe a Turkish director over looked these glaring predilections towards the Romans.
The Constantinople victory, deservedly belongs to Mehmed alone, who was reduced to a reckless, self centered urchin. How very disappointing.
The actors did a tremendous job nonetheless, especially the guy playing Mehmed.
I wish the film makers had put more emphasis on Mehmed than glorifying Giustiniani every 5 minutes.
Dirilis: Ertugrul (2014)
Great show but could've been better!
I'm a huge GoT fans and recently discovered this show. It's quite similar to GoT in many aspects. The costumes, set design is at par with any Hollywood production. Acting, by all the main actors is good too and the show has that charisma to make you easily addictive to it.
However, my only concern is the pacing. It drags a lot and becomes mundane at times. Something I've noticed about Turkish serials. They seriously need to work on their editing.
I'm only on season 1 yet and I've heard there 500+ episodes. That's too much. They should've trimmed the storyline to appeal to a more wider audience. I guess that's how they like it in Turkey but as a non-Turkish viewer, despite its great storyline and beautiful sets, it drags on for too much.
Delhi Crime (2019)
Missed opportunity
Don't believe the glorifying reviews. This was a drag and a massive let down.
A crime that shook the conscience of every Indian, and made headlines Internationally, deserved a compelling account of what happened that fateful night and the public outrage that followed.
Instead we get a lackluster story, trying to shine light on the Delhi Police. I don't know how police investigations are done in India, but it was hilarious to watch policemen holding hands with the perp. A police headquarter that looked like a B grade motel and a female cop, trying too hard to act like an FBI agent.
Don't even get me started on the annoying teenage daughter, who had no purpose in this film than to be mad at everything.
Doesn't help that half of the subtitles are missing, and the accent is so thick, you can barely understand what they're saying.
And can somebody please explain to my why half the dialogues were in english? Do people in India conversate like that? Half indian, half english? That put me off to be honest.
Basically this is about how the police caught the perps in time and that's it.
The acting wasn't something to write home about either. Overall, a dull and half-baked attempt to depict a real-life heinous crime.
Perdida (2018)
Had potential
This movie could have been a great thriller if not for the bad editing and confusing plot twists.
Five teenage friends go on a trip but only four return. One of the girls becomes a cop and tries to reopen the case.
So far a somewhat interesting plot, turns into a confusing mess later on.
How was cornelia abducted when Ariel was the only guy there? Perhaps his parents were part of the ring but it is never explained.
What's the connection between Ariel and the Egyptian? Again no explanation.
Why did that bald guy help Cornelia when he was supposed to kill her?
How was Pipa's boss involved?
Too many loose ends to make this a good watch. It's a pity because the acting and cinematography was very good.
Full House (1987)
One of the greatest comedies!!!
"Full House" is undoubtedly the greatest show of the early 90's. All of the characters were really funny, especially Joey, with his spontaneousness and impressions. He's probably one of the best comedians we have. Other than that, i liked Stephanie a lot, she was definitely the cutest till the 4th season. DJ was really cool too and Danny Tanner, Jesse and Michelle were all good too. I didnt like Rebecca's character much and later the marriage with Jesse and then the kids, that's probably when the show lost it's magic. It should've sticked to the original cast. Anyways, on a scale of 1-10, i'd give it 8.5
