Amadeus (1984)
A great movie that ages well over time.
I am discovering this film only in 2023, and it's a highly underrated movie that should be better known. The actors' performances are incredibly believable and moving, to the point where you end up becoming attached to the protagonists. The music is naturally epic, as it consists of Mozart's own musical compositions. The portrayal of Mozart is incredibly touching, and that of Salieri is very versatile.
The film "Amadeus" not only showcases the brilliant performances of the actors but also delves into the complex relationship between Mozart and Salieri, which adds depth and intrigue to the storyline. The cinematography is visually stunning, capturing the grandeur of the era and the passion behind the music. The narrative effortlessly blends historical accuracy with artistic liberties, resulting in a compelling and emotionally resonant portrayal of these iconic composers. Overall, "Amadeus" is a cinematic masterpiece that deserves wider recognition and appreciation for its artistry, storytelling, and its celebration of the timeless genius of Mozart. It's a film that will leave a lasting impression on any viewer, regardless of their knowledge of classical music or history.
Kaamelott - Premier volet (2021)
What the hell is that?
I used to enjoy the serie because it was brilliant on many aspect, but this movie seems it was directed by a 12 years old child : there is no coherence in the costumes, timeline is messie, characters are annoying, jokes are not fun, actors are terrible, except for sting. It's a pure shame for Astier, and I gave a 2/10 for the effort provided to make this movie. But honestly it would worth a 0.
Midway (2019)
finally no feminism propaganda in a movie
For a long time, I watched a movie with no feminism propaganda. It's good to remember that men died and fight during WWII in hard combat. Japanese and American were great fighters.
The Great Wall (2016)
Matt Damon save the movie
I watched that movie in a theater and i must admit that the specials effects are pretty entertaining. But that's it. Even if the story background is interesting, the actors, especially the Asians ones, are terrible. They lack of deepness and you don't feel attached to them. It's probably a cultural thing but I don't watch movies with Asians usually. The only character who really worth it is Matt Damon. And I have to admit that I felt sorry to see him playing in that movie after "The Martians". Honestly, if you remove him from the casting, the movie is not watchable. Another aspect is the redundancy of the battles with the monsters. The story was pretty good until the monsters appears. After the first battle it was kind of redundant and kind of boring.
In conclusion, it's another block buster with close combats and Kung-Fu scenes with super heroes. In a word, not very original.
