Footballers' Wives (2002)
Best tv drama EVER!
Footballers Wives is one of the best television drams to come out of the UK. It started its third series last night and it is still as racey and raunchy as the previous series'. Tanya is still incredible as a Footballers Wife. New arrivals Conrad and Amber Gates keep the show glamorous. Although alot of the original characters have departed to do other things the show is still great with its replacements. No one can beat Tanya and Hazel though. They make the show what it is. Absolutely amazing. I hope this programme goes on for more and more series'. I just love it.
The Hours (2002)
Best movie of 2002!
The Hours is without a doubt my favorite film of 2002. The three main actresses are spectacular. Nicole Kidman gives a great peformance as virginia Woolf writing her novel Mrs Dalloway in the 20's. Then there is Meryl Streep living in contempory New York in the present day, living the life of the character Mrs Dalloway. My favourite character though is Laura Brown, played by the delightful Julianne Moore, (she should have won the oscar for this role) she is living as a 50's housewife reading the book Mrs Dalloway.
We see these incredible women tackling life in each era, sometimes struggling to come to terms with what is happening to them and others around them. Ed Harris and Toni Collette also offer amazing peformances. There were some scenes in this movie that made me feel really emotional. I am of the opinion though that if a film can make you cry then it is a blessing, as you see your emotional side come through after watching a classic piece of great cinema.
This movie is a must see for anyone who enjoys emotional and dramatic movies. 10/10.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
An amazing and incredible display of a Tarantino movie
Words cannot describe this movie. This is Tarantino's 4th film and its probably one of his best. Its performances are Oscar worthy and the whole movie is sublime. Every scene keeps you on the edge of your seat. A must see for any movie watcher. What is even better is that this is only volume 1. Volume 2 is released early next year and I don't care that people are complaining that this movie is in two parts, this means twice the entertainment and excitement. 10/10.
Boogie Nights (1997)
A vivid depiction of life in 70's & 80's California
This is one of the few movies that I would rate 10/10. First of all the peformances are just the best I have seen in a long time. The ensemble cast is great. Julianne Moore gives the peformance of a lifetime and definately deserved to win the best supporting actress Oscar. Burt Reynolds, Heather Graham and Mark Wahlberg all gave excellent peformances too. Credit should go to Paul Thomas Anderson for this great screenplay. Boogie Nights is a film that will go into my top 10 favourite films of all time. 10/10.
