Highlander: The Source (2007)
This film decimates the Highlander series.
It feels like 1991 again.
We all thought Highlander 2: The Quickening was bad, but this script is worse. I would rather take them being Aliens, then having to watch the series I love and the characters that made the series great, turn out the way it did.
Come on, did anyone in charge, with half an ounce of Highlander knowledge actually read this drivel? According to IMDb, the writers (except Widen) only have 1 credit to their name and this is it.
The Guardian is annoying, he makes me think he is a punk rocker. The character is laughable at best, making me want to fast forward past his scenes.
Giovanni is absolutely terrible, the hairdo? The bad acting? Gah! Anna was good, I have no problem with her.
Dawson was his typical gruff self, but the death scene was just horrible.
Methos was fine.
Duncan was written horrible, I pity Adrian Paul, he must have been cringing at screening for this flick.
The plot was absolute painful, the ending was worse.
If you are a Highlander fan, do not watch this flick. It will only make you hate the series.
Transformers: Animated (2007)
Interesting, I like it.
I'm a Generation One'er before it was even known as Generation One.
When I was young, I lived and breathed Transformers.
While this is not your father's Transformers (namely, me), it is in fact a respectable take on it. They've made it somewhat fun to watch with what seems to be some pretty good writing (so far).
It's still early, but it was good enough for me to set up my PVR to record it every Saturday. I never did that with Cybertron, Armada, Beast Machines/Wars.
Spoiler information: I not really too keen on what they have done with Optimus, to me, it seems that they made him somewhat too average and alittle less mature than I would have liked.
Also, the concept of the all-spark irritates me.
For the first couple of episodes, I have given it an 8 out of 10. This may change, but right now, I like it.
Frosty Returns (1992)
1cup Environmentalism, 2 cups Lackluster Plot, 1 tsp leeching off a classic, stir.
Painful to watch. The original was a fun show for kids and adults, Frosty Returns, however is absolutely painful to watch due to the messaging embedded in it.
While I can appreciate using cartoons as a vehicle to inform youths, doing it in a Christmas show just creates confusion and is out of place.
This show does not have the same level of interest, movement of plot and sadly, even animation fun as the original, even though it was created decades later.
Save your children the disappointment, don't let them watch this trash.
