Huluween Dragstravaganza (2022)
Great way to start the season
It's not really Halloween without drag queens. Corny jokes, ridiculous sketches, over the top dance numbers with catchy songs. What a great start to what is looking to be an amazing october. I get how some people who were raised with hatred in their heart and bigotry on their lips might not like this, but really if we pandered to them all the shows would be replaced with homophobic, xenophobic, no race mixing awful rehashes of 50's television as they remember it. Definitely not the Betty White show cause she pissed these people off by letting a black guy dance around white people. For the rest of us, I highly recommend spending a corny few minutes watching the funny drag show. Though the Ke$ha thing can really be skipped, but it's nice that the drag queens and the studios helped out someone who was lost to obscurity like that.
I Care a Lot (2020)
What a waste
This movie looked like it might have some redemptive quality but nope. They decided if they doubled down on the elder abusing psychopath lead by making it female and lgbtq they could get away with a story that absolutely sucks. The only happy moments were when bad things happened to her. I was kind of hoping the old lady would have choked her to death or the trip off the cliff would have worked and then the focus would have shifted to her girlfriend finding her own story arc that didn't suck. Off to watch Boston Legal episode Chitty Chitty Bang Bang where someone who does this exact scam gets a proper comeuppance.
Disenchantment (2018)
If it they tried to make it worse they might accidentally improve it.
It's too adult for children and too childish for adults. The entire thing feels like a book of knock knock rape jokes. It's like Groening heard the word streaming thought netflix said steaming so he made them a pile of crap. The characters are unlikable versions of the main characters from futurama, The jokes failed to make me laugh even once in the seven episodes I watched. I had to turn it off after 7 episodes to do some work and when got back home I hovered my mouse over continue watching. All I could think was, "I would rather punch myself in the face than click play on this again."
Branded (2012)
Don't waste your time
This movie is so badly put together that any merit of concept or acting just dies. It's the sort of fake intellectual dross that really stoned people think is profound. If a person suggests it to you ask them if they think it's strange that God spelled backwards is dog, it's the same crowd. Even though it's on netflix and you won't have to waste money on it it's not worth the hundred minutes of your life you could spend doing anything else. I gave it two stars because at some moments it almost seemed like a movie was about to start and the acting was fair, it's just the script direction and effects were like a high school project. I don't even think rifftrax could save this one.
