Transnistra (2019)
Only politics and nothing more
It's hard for me to call this a movie. This is another political attack directed against Pridnestrovie. I do not deny that the author cannot completely escape the socio-cultural context in which he works, but here we are talking about clearly paid propaganda work. It is not directed against certain political forces (the Pridnestrovian state, Russia, etc.), the main idea is to discriminate and humiliate the Pridnestrovian people itself. This becomes absolutely clear from the first seconds of this film, when its title is shown: the word "Transnistria", which the authors used in relation to Pridnestrovie, is an extremely rude politicized insult with a hint of the need for genocide of the local population, and the "creative team" was great about it aware. I did not find any other content in the film, as directors and screenwriters they are absolutely mediocre. 0/10.
Bald and Bankrupt: This Country Does Not Exist! | Transnistria (2019)
Unprofessionalism and bias
The author of this movie is a fairly well-known person on YouTube who makes content about his travels. Unfortunately, in an attempt to make his videos entertaining to the detriment of a reliable depiction of the places he visited, he shows his complete incompetence as a journalist, explorer and traveler. At all, I doubt these definitions apply at all to this second-rate vlogger.
This movie most clearly demonstrates not only blatant unprofessionalism, but also political bias. The author skillfully seeks out all kinds of dirt and debris, trying to show the place he visits from the most unsightly side. However, in this case it goes beyond reason. Suffice it to note that the term "Transnistria" he used is not the name of the region called Pridnestrovie, which he shows in his video, but is an extremely rude insult to the locals (this is also mentioned in the video itself).
According to the author, this region "does not exist", and its inhabitants do not have the right to life (this is the direct context of the word "Transnistria"). As a result, almost the entire film is a stream of hatred and does not intersect with reality in any way.
I highly do not recommend this work by this author, as well as his other work.
