The Chosen (2017)
Not Your Grandma's Jesus Show!
I am blown away by this series! Jesus and his disciples are fully relatable and shown accurately, humanity and all. The cost of following Jesus and his path is demonstrated in its fulness for the modern Christian. He's the most wonderful Messiah we could ever hope for, but following him will cost us everything: our jobs, our families, our good names and reputations, and yes, we will have enemies. But the internal transformation to New Life he gives us is worth far more any cost. Jesus is the greatest gift in all the universe and The Chosen nails that message. Come and Know Him and your Father!
Knowing (2009)
This Movie Is Very Spiritual
Recently, I've been reading the Book of Enoch, an Apocryphal text left out of the Holy Bible when Emperor Constantine compiled the ancient tome. This book talks extensively of beings from other worlds who come here to both harm and assist mankind in our spiritual journey back home towards God. This film lines up remarkably with Christian doctrine with the Book of Enoch included. This world will indeed pass away and a new one is coming. The film Knowing captures the spirit of the transition to the new world and becoming as a little child being the key to making the transition. Well done film!!!
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
This Series is Much More than Meets the Eye
I've spent the past decade and a half unpacking the depth of this transcendent series. There is a spiritual message in it for everyone who watches it. This series highlights in stunning allegory the truth of mankind's existence and spiritual journey as well as that of all intelligent beings. God is up to something big in this show, telling in stunning parable the story of the House of Israel and how out of the ashes of a decadent society who has forgotten God, he scatters Israel, refines them in the furnace of affliction, then leads them sanctified to their Promised Land: earth. God bless y'all.
Friday Night Lights (2006)
Finest Show in a Generation
When I tuned into Friday Night Lights, I expected to find another mindless football-jock fest with shallow dramatic plots and shallow subject matter. I could not have been more wrong. Football merely frames what is an epic human drama that is raw, authentic, and shows stories that are vulnerable. The show is taking on the greatest challenge we all face universally: The Drama of Real Life. The show filming on location in Texas deepens the reality of being a fully immersive experience. The series takes you somewhere we all desperately long to be: a place with Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose.
